In 2020 Amnesty International Italy implemented Odoo CRM as part of a broader Odoo platform rollout led by implementation partner Metadonors Srl, aligning CRM capabilities with fundraising and membership operations. The deployment targeted the Italian Section of Amnesty International, supporting 23 named Odoo users within the national organization that manages almost 70,000 members and supporters, and was scoped to centralize donor and campaign management under the CRM category.
The implementation embedded the Donodoo custom suite alongside standard Odoo modules, with Donodoo composed of four custom applications that include Fundraising and Face2Face functionality, and modules addressing membership, subscriptions, association or cashflow management. Odoo CRM was configured to surface Donation and Campaign records, enable campaign list segmentation, and manage Face2Face acquisition and clawback workflows, while providing query, pivot and graph capabilities for internal analysis.
Architecturally the solution used Odoo as the ERP based platform to consolidate donor data across touchpoints and to enable integrations, including connectors to external business intelligence tools and bank interfaces to manage direct debit and donation transaction flows. The platform approach allowed staff to add and edit data directly, standardize the donor data supply chain, and synchronize work across CRM, Calendar, Project and Dashboard modules to support cross‑functional processes.
Governance and process changes focused on instituting donor centered workflows, automating repetitive tasks, and standardizing data collection across acquisition and donation channels to improve data quality and campaign targeting. Outcomes reported by the organization from the Odoo CRM deployment included a 17.6 percent increase in income from individual giving, an 8 percent increase in number of donors, and a 15 percent improvement in reactivation of lapsed donors, with expectations to extend these benefits over a multi year horizon.
