Volker Highways | Construction and Real Estate | 3600 | $1.3B | United Kingdom | IBM | IBM Maximo | Enterprise Asset Management | 2016 | In 2016, Volker Highways implemented IBM Maximo version 7.5 as its Enterprise Asset Management platform to support highway maintenance, street lighting, electrical services, road surfacing, traffic management and public realm infrastructure across multiple UK contracts. Volker Highways engaged Peacock Engineering to deploy and configure IBM Maximo for asset centric operations and to extend the platform into field operations for a mobile workforce of approximately 200 mobile work gangs and broader site teams. The implementation focused on core Enterprise Asset Management capabilities, including work scheduling and permitting, integrated work order management, workforce scheduling and formal job control. Peacock Engineering installed the Fingertip mobile add-on alongside IBM Maximo to enable vehicle inspection workflows, issuing work orders in the field, inventory adjustments and stock ordering from site, and to maintain a real time link between mobile activities and the central Maximo installation. Integrations and interfaces were delivered to meet Volker Highways specific operational requirements, including Traffic Management Act integration and custom interface design to support multi-contract orchestration. The deployment architecture combined IBM Maximo version 7.5 with the IBM MobileFirst enabled Fingertip mobile solution, providing online and offline synchronization to accommodate engineers who travel nationally and who may not always have internet access. Governance and rollout used a staged transition approach for the mobile workforce, moving crews onto the Fingertip solution incrementally to ease adoption and reduce upgrade risk. Peacock Engineering configured the rollout to provide staged training and cutover for 200 mobile work gangs, enabling the IT team to manage change, validate compliance during vehicle inspections and refine operational workflows before broader coverage. The deployment produced explicit operational benefits described by Volker Highways including extended Maximo capabilities in the field, improved compliance during vehicle inspections, ability to issue and update work orders on site, real time data currency in IBM Maximo and enhanced reporting and performance for mobile teams. These functional outcomes supported Volker Highways business functions in operations, fleet and inventory control, and contract delivery without introducing speculative metrics or financial claims.

Northern Ireland Electricity | Utilities | 1200 | $400M | United Kingdom | IBM | IBM Maximo | Enterprise Asset Management | 2017 | In 2017, Northern Ireland Electricity engaged Peacock Engineering to upgrade and develop IBM Maximo within its Enterprise Asset Management environment. Northern Ireland Electricity Networks owns the regulated electricity transmission and distribution infrastructure in Northern Ireland and had used IBM Maximo for approximately ten years to support those assets and operational activities. The program upgraded Maximo to the latest version and deliberately replaced bespoke customisation with configuration to improve maintainability. Implementation work concentrated on enhancing asset move capabilities and extending work order functionality, delivering expanded asset movement tracking and more robust work order lifecycle handling consistent with Enterprise Asset Management practices. Peacock Engineering also replaced the Syclo mobile solution with Fingertip Mobility to provide mapped workflows and mapping availability on mobile devices, creating a user-friendly experience for field technicians. Mobile work streams were fully implemented to connect field maintenance and asset operations teams with Maximo, aligning mobile workflows with core work order and asset records. Peacock Engineering commenced the project in September 2017 and met all scheduled contractual milestones over a nine month delivery with minimal change. The engagement emphasized governance and process change by removing custom code in favor of configuration, simplifying future upgrades and ongoing stewardship of the Enterprise Asset Management platform.

Flogas Britain | Oil, Gas and Chemicals | 1215 | $506M | United Kingdom | IBM | IBM Maximo | Enterprise Asset Management | 2018 | In 2018, Flogas Britain deployed IBM Maximo as its Enterprise Asset Management solution to centralize Process Safety Performance Indicators across its operations in the United Kingdom and Ireland. The implementation covered the company’s network of 34 sites and was delivered through a Peacock Engineering Software as a Service agreement supporting close to 100 users, with an explicit objective to simplify, automate and capture PSPI data for both leading and lagging metrics. The IBM Maximo implementation was configured to record daily checks, routine maintenance and statutory inspections, and to manage equipment and location data. Functional capabilities in use include asset performance and integrity monitoring, inspection scheduling and execution, maintenance work order creation, and automated monthly reporting derived from a redeveloped asset and location hierarchy. Peacock Engineering also developed and delivered training courses to Flogas staff to support data migration activities and operational adoption across the estate. Architecturally the solution was provided as a SaaS-hosted IBM Maximo environment, augmented with Peacock Engineering’s Fingertip mobile add-on to extend data capture to field technicians. Fingertip Audit functionality was instrumented to support ad-hoc and planned asset and location audits, and to create follow-up work orders on the spot for corrective maintenance. The project included migration of acquired BP LPG data into IBM Maximo to consolidate asset records and maintenance histories. Governance and process changes accompanied the technical work, including a redesigned asset/location hierarchy, standardized inspection and maintenance workflows, and manager-accessible automated monthly reports. Training and rollout were delivered across the UK and Ireland to align users with the new EAM processes and mobile audit practices, enabling consistent PSPI capture at source. As implemented, IBM Maximo enabled Flogas Britain to simplify presentation of PSPI data, automate capture of PSPI inputs and increase the volume of safety performance data collected. The combined SaaS EAM platform and Fingertip mobile auditing fulfilled the stated goal to provide comprehensive leading and lagging metrics to stakeholders and operational staff.
