In 2014, Leyland SDM implemented Microsoft Dynamics AX as their ERP Financial platform to establish a technical foundation for future expansion. The implementation targeted Leyland's retail estate of 25 stores in and around the M25, plus warehouse and head office operations, with a focus on improving customer experience and enabling multi-channel engagement.
Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 was deployed as an out of the box ERP Financial solution and configured to centralize inventory control and standardize stock consistency across retail sites. Functional capabilities implemented included core financial management, centralized stock and replenishment workflows, and retail operations configuration aligned with inventory and order management practices common to the category.
Retail247 Consulting led testing, deployment and training activities and supplied an onsite project team to represent the retailer and manage stakeholder communications. The engagement included consultancy to adapt Leyland's operational support model for the new system, hands-on project management of go live activities, and ongoing post go live support from Retail247 Consulting.
Operational coverage spanned stores, warehouse and head office, enabling Leyland to engage customers across web social apps and mobile while running agile store and head office operations on a cloud ready platform. The implementation of Microsoft Dynamics AX was delivered successfully and Retail247 continue to provide support to the Leyland team.
