SAP Legacy SAP HCM (HR) Core HR HCM n/a 2015 2016
In 2015, ABLE Group implemented SAP HCM (HR) as its Core HR application to centralize human resources processes across the organization. The deployment was operated in-house through a 14-person SAP Center of Competence based in Gummersbach, Germany, with hybrid work allowed up to three days per week and no travel required for the in-house consulting role. The implementation emphasized SAP HCM (HR) configuration and ongoing customizing, with in-house consultants accountable for requirements management, process analysis, and tailoring SAP HCM module settings. Functional emphasis aligned with Core HR best practices, focusing on personnel administration, organizational management, time and absence handling, and employee self-service workflows, complemented by formal customizing and process design activities. Operational coverage included HR and specialist business units across the ABLE Group, with project coordination between the SAP Center of Competence, IT, and HR development teams. The support model established second and third level incident management and regular user training, delivered alongside an ABLEacademy induction and continuous learning program to sustain adoption and configuration governance. Governance was formalized through in-house consulting ownership of SAP HCM process design, change requests, and project coordination, with consultants leading user training and supporting operational rollouts. The SAP Center of Competence maintained ongoing customizing and support responsibilities, embedding SAP HCM (HR) into ABLE Group human resources operations and service delivery.
