In 2021 Accredo Packaging implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central as its ERP Financial system, replacing Microsoft Dynamics NAV. The project centered on aligning packaging manufacturing operations with core financial controls, targeting finance, manufacturing, operations, and IT functions across the Sugar Land, Texas site and associated manufacturing facilities.
The implementation emphasized custom AL development within the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central manufacturing module to support shop floor and conversion manufacturing workflows. Configuration work included financial core capabilities typical of ERP Financial systems, security role setup and modification, and MS SQL based data migration activities to move transactional and master data from Microsoft Dynamics NAV into Business Central.
Integrations were executed using API tooling and direct consumption of REST ODATA and SOAP endpoints, with Python scripting used to orchestrate integration tasks and batch exchanges. The deployment connected Business Central to external operational systems and third-party endpoints, while the ERP Developer role provided ongoing development, troubleshooting and support for integrations and extensions.
Governance followed a standard implementation methodology with formal deliverables, collaboration between ERP functional consultants and developers, and project monitoring to complete configuration and customization milestones. Day to day operational ownership concentrated on sustaining manufacturing module customizations, maintaining integration endpoints, and supporting finance and production process flows within the new Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central environment.
