McLeod Software Legacy McLeod LoadMaster Transportation Management SCM n/a 2020 2020
In 2020, Action Enterprises implemented McLeod LoadMaster as its Transportation Management application to centralize core freight operations. The deployment was driven by the company CIO and IT Director working with internal IT staff and external vendors to design a right-sized solution that aligned with existing IT responsibilities for system availability and performance. McLeod LoadMaster was configured to support core transportation workflows typical of Transportation Management systems, including dispatch and load planning, carrier and rate management, and settlement and billing workflows. The implementation was provisioned to operate within Action Enterprises server and database standards, aligned with Microsoft Server administration and Microsoft SQL Server for back-end data storage and reporting. The deployment included explicit integration points with CRM and imaging systems to preserve document capture and customer data flows, and with the company Microsoft 365 environment to support user provisioning and Office-based workflows. Operational coverage focused on transportation operations, dispatch teams, accounts receivable and billing, and the internal IT support function which handled L2 and L3 escalation and routine system maintenance. Governance was structured around the CIO and IT Director with documented plans, standards, procedures and checklists, and a ticketing and escalation model for support and change requests. Implementation activities emphasized configuration documentation, monitoring of system availability, and process adjustments to align help desk escalation, change management and operational handoffs to the new McLeod LoadMaster Transportation Management platform.
