Integrations were built to ingest transaction and ledger feeds from numerous policy administration systems, enabling a single reconciled dataset for global reporting. Operational coverage included finance, actuarial, and exposure management teams across Aegon Group regions, with the platform providing a centralized source for reinsurance accounting and exposure aggregation. Governance work established standardized data models and reconciliation controls to improve reporting consistency and to streamline actuarial and pricing processes. The implementation delivered a reported 33 percent improvement in data processing efficiency and a 2.4 times increase in throughput according to the Quantemplate case study. | |

The implementation was developed as an enterprise integration architecture connecting customer facing channels to a set of backend platforms, and the project documentation characterizes the initiative as architecture development for the new proposition. IBM MQ API was configured to expose asynchronous MQ services through managed API endpoints, and the implementation included API routing, protocol mediation, security controls and lifecycle versioning consistent with API Management practice. Configuration work included creating service facades and API endpoints in front of message queuing interfaces and Java services, and mapping request and response flows to content managed in CQ5. Integrations were explicit and central to the implementation, linking Java applications, CQ5, IBM MQ, Pega and Salesforce to the API layer. The deployment structure followed a layered pattern with an API front door for channel orchestration, an enterprise message backbone using MQ for reliable queuing and service orchestration ties into Pega for business process execution and Salesforce for customer record synchronization. Operational governance was formalized around API lifecycle, security policies and change control to coordinate teams working across channels and backends, and rollout used phased exposure of services as integrations were completed.
