In 2021, Afterpay deployed ADP PayForce for Payroll to centralize payroll processing across its Australia, New Zealand and Asia workforce. The deployment targeted ANZ operations based in Melbourne and was designed to support the Payroll Manager, ANZ in delivering on time and accurate payroll for full time employees and the broader Asia employee group.
ADP PayForce was configured to handle end to end payroll activities including data entry, processing of salary components such as leave, commission and overtime, payroll reconciliations, and payroll accounting tasks for superannuation, tax, awards, shares and commissions. The ADP PayForce implementation also encompassed posting payroll related information to the General Ledger and routine payroll query handling workflows.
Operational integrations emphasized coordination with an external payroll vendor to disperse superannuation and tax and automated feeds into the company General Ledger for accounting continuity. The implementation covered departmental payroll operations across Finance and HR functions in Australia, New Zealand and Asia, aligning payroll processing with broader financial close activities.
Governance was structured under the Global Payroll Manager with a Payroll Manager, ANZ overseeing a small regional team to execute monthly payroll cycles and reconciliations. The program included process ownership for statutory compliance, stakeholder query management, and partnership with the broader Finance team on system and process improvements to support scalable payroll operations.
