In 2019 Afvalzorg implemented Microsoft 365. Microsoft 365 serves as Afvalzorgs Collaboration platform for its roughly 120 employees based in the Netherlands, providing a centralized SaaS environment for internal communication and document sharing.
The deployment is provisioned as a cloud tenant of Microsoft 365 and is configured to support core collaboration capabilities, including Exchange Online email, SharePoint Online for intranet and document libraries, Microsoft Teams for real time chat and meetings, OneDrive for user file sync, and Office desktop and web applications for content creation. Configuration includes standard collaboration workflows such as shared team sites, document co-authoring, and group mailbox provisioning, consistent with Collaboration category best practices.
Afvalzorgs public website contains references to Microsoft 365 assets, indicating the product is part of the organizationwide tooling footprint and visible in external site telemetry. Operational coverage spans corporate and operational business functions, with the platform used to coordinate administrative, operational, and support teams across the companys Netherlands operations, and with centralized tenant level identity and access controls to manage user authentication and permissions.
Governance is organized around tenant administration, role based access control, and information governance settings typical for Microsoft 365, including policy based sharing controls and retention configuration. Organizational rollout focused on configuring collaboration workspaces and access controls for existing staff, with administrative controls to manage user lifecycle and compliance settings within the Microsoft 365 Collaboration environment.

In 2007 Afvalzorg deployed Exact Synergy for Document Management to centralize records and support its waste management and regulatory reporting functions. Afvalzorg Exact Synergy Document Management supports waste intake registration, contract and project information access, and internal communications across a 60 user footprint spanning seven branches.
Exact Synergy was configured to provide centralized document retrieval, news publishing and diary management, and to surface contracts, quotations and project information for account managers. The organization used Exact Synergy to replace the need for a previously custom relationship management investment, and Exact Synergy now makes that information automatically available across all seven branches.
The implementation integrated Exact Synergy with a custom relationship management system developed by Exact Software and with a special waste registration application that records waste flow numbers and national and European classification codes, and links to Exact e-mail. Operational coverage explicitly included account managers, branch offices and the waste processing and regulatory reporting workflows that require exact destination and material use tracking.
Rollout was executed as a staged growth process, with six months reserved to migrate document management and Human Resource Management, and weekly implementation steps taken with a consultant to build adoption. The program prioritized shifting routine communication from e-mail to structured workflows over time, and delivered more timely diary management, faster access to customer data, and centralized news publication as reported by Afvalzorg.
