| Shopify | Legacy | Shopify Plus | eCommerce | eCommerce | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019 Aje implemented Shopify Plus as its primary eCommerce platform to bring its physical retail experience online and centralize a multi-site digital storefront strategy. The eCommerce deployment prioritized mobile optimization, high-quality site imagery, and localized customer experiences to better represent the brand across Australia and international markets.
Working with Shopify Plus and Solutions Partner Moustache Republic, Aje delivered a redesigned, brand-led storefront architecture on Shopify Plus that emphasized a fluid mobile storefront, optimized checkout workflows, and site content management that the in-house ecommerce team could operate. Functional capabilities implemented included multi-currency pricing and Shopify Payments for multi-currency checkout supporting 20 currencies, localized pricing for AUD and NZD, and separate storefronts for Australian, New Zealand, and a global site.
Operational coverage extended across eCommerce, marketing, and retail operations, supporting shipping to 75 countries and serving customers in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, Asia, and the Middle East. The solution created three international expansion stores to sell internationally and positioned the platform to support future omnichannel features the company identified such as click and collect and a virtual stylist service.
Governance and rollout were collaborative, with Shopify Plus providing ongoing resources and acting as a sounding board, while Aje’s head of ecommerce led optimization and iterative improvements with the partner. Results reported by the company were immediate, including a 135% increase in conversion rate within weeks, reduced bounce rate, increased pages per session and average session duration, and materially improved mobile conversion since replatforming.
