In 2025, Aker BP implemented SAP S/4 HANA to strengthen ERP Financial capabilities and to provide a single source of record that supports condition based maintenance and maintenance planning workflows. The deployment of SAP S/4 HANA was positioned as the financial and master data backbone for maintenance decisioning, tying transactional finance and asset master records to operational reliability processes.
Aker BP configured SAP Asset Performance Management as the condition based maintenance hub and extended it using standard building blocks from SAP Business Technology Platform. The project included an asset data onboarding application built on SAP BTP to manage time series ingestion and real time alerts, and the team applied artificial intelligence and machine learning services to automate maintenance decisioning and event prioritization. SAP S/4 HANA was used to ensure asset thresholds and configuration data remained current, enabling engineers to tune alert thresholds and reduce unnecessary interventions.
The implementation integrated third party specialist systems by routing their alerts and events into SAP Asset Performance Management, creating a consolidated monitoring and alert management layer. Lighthouse assisted in developing a custom onboarding application and streamlining data ingestion to handle high volumes of time series data and real time alarms. A unified overview page on SAP BTP consolidates data ingestion, alert handling, and monitoring, making SAP Asset Performance Management the operational hub for reliability engineering.
Operational coverage emphasized remote and normally unmanned installations and core field operations, aligning reliability, operations, and maintenance planning teams to a single data flow. Governance changes focused on automating the processing and management of maintenance decisions and documenting decision rationale within the system to support accountable workflows. Aker BP framed the implementation with an explicit goal of achieving zero unknown failures on critical equipment by using SAP S/4 HANA, SAP Asset Performance Management, and SAP BTP to enable predictive, data driven maintenance.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central | Core HR | HCM | Zalaris | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019 Aker BP revamped its HRIS portfolio and deployed SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central as the core of its Core HR architecture, establishing a foundation for total workforce management across employee and contingent worker populations. The deployment was positioned as the central employee record and people management layer supporting Aker BP’s stated HR objectives of compliance, streamlined employee lifecycle workflows, mobile access, and consolidated reporting across a 1 700 person footprint with offices in Fornebu, Trondheim, Stavanger, Sandnessjøen and Harstad.
The SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central implementation included configuration and rollout of standard Core HR modules and adjacent talent capabilities, explicitly covering Employee Central, Recruitment Management, Recruitment Marketing, Onboarding, Offboarding, Performance and Goals, Succession, Job Profile Builder, Compensation and LMS. Design principles emphasized end-user flow-efficiency, minimal data fields, mobile-first access and workflow-based end-to-end lifecycle management to support onboarding, employment changes and offboarding processes.
The architecture was delivered as an integrated HRIS portfolio with SAP Fieldglass managing contingent workers and Zalaris SAP handling payroll, time and expenses for employees, reflecting a hybrid service and software topology. Zalaris served as the implementation and payroll services partner, linking SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central to outsourced payroll operations and supporting compliance reporting and first-line employee support within the total workforce model.
Governance and operationalization focused on establishing Day 2 scope, a single team mindset between customer and vendor, workshop empowerment for rapid decisions and defined escalation for module cross-impact decisions. Project lessons documented by Aker BP included the need to align Aker BP requirements with vendor best practice, to design incentive models for continuous improvement, and to coordinate multi-channel communication and training across the organization to manage the human change elements of Core HR modernization.

| Cognite | Legacy | Cognite InField | Asset Performance Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019, Aker BP implemented Cognite InField as an Asset Performance Management application to provide a consolidated maintenance overview for critical oil and gas equipment. The implementation leveraged Cognite Data Fusion to aggregate and contextualize operational data into a unified presentation layer, enabling a single point of access for equipment status and maintenance review.
Configuration centered on a dashboard-driven workflow, combining contextualized telemetry, metadata and work order status into maintenance status views and equipment health sketches typical of Asset Performance Management solutions. Cognite InField was configured to present quick maintenance overviews and role-specific visualizations for maintenance engineers, supervisors and planners, simplifying review cycles for critical assets.
The deployment integrated data from four different source systems into one dashboard, creating a centralized data aggregation and contextualization architecture accessible to both offshore and onshore maintenance organizations. Integrations focused on bringing together disparate operational, asset and maintenance records without altering the source systems, supporting cross-functional maintenance planning and execution.
Governance emphasized operational visibility for the maintenance organization, using the Cognite InField dashboard to standardize how critical equipment status is reviewed across sites. The implementation delivered rapid maintenance overviews of critical equipment and provided a simple but powerful tool for reviewing maintenance status, improving situational awareness for Aker BP maintenance teams.
