In 2009 Al Rostamani Group implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to deliver ERP Financial capabilities across eight group companies, initiating a phased rollout that began with Phase 1 go-live and extended into Phase 2 implementations. The engagement ran from November 2009 and continued with onsite FI/CO consultancy in Dubai, staffed with one FI/CO consultant and a total project team of ten consultants.
The implementation centered on SAP ERP ECC 6.0 FI/CO functionality, with design and configuration work for Financial Accounting, Controlling, Profitability Analysis and the Re-Flex module. Configuration covered accounts receivable and accounts payable workflows including Post Dated Cheque handling, subcontracting invoice verification for construction operations, bank reconciliation processes, Project Systems financial reporting and GL reporting built with Report Painter and SAP Query.
Integrations were executed to align finance and controlling with materials and order processes, specifically integration points with MM and SD modules to support upstream procurement and sales order flows impacting financial postings. Operational coverage spanned corporate finance, project accounting for construction and projects execution, property management billing and trading finance teams across the UAE group companies.
Governance activities included Phase 2 blueprint workshops, designing the go-live strategy, executing data conversion activities for cutover, preparing functional specifications for ABAP developments and establishing month end and period end closing procedures. The team provided ongoing issue resolution workflows and user support processes, and delivered custom reports and specifications to enable stabilization post go-live.
The project recorded a successful Phase 2 go-live and continued with post go-live support and day to day operational issue resolution for SAP ERP ECC 6.0. Post go-live activities included hands on support for period end closing and iterative functional enhancements driven by finance and project accounting requirements.
