Operational integrations included connection to reporting feeds used for store level transaction tracking, coordination with IT to develop an Eftpos sales tracking report for cash management, and data migration activities from prior systems into SAP S/4 HANA. The scope of coverage encompassed corporate finance, tax and treasury functions, store finance reporting across Australia, and statutory reporting processes used by auditors. Governance and process changes were led through finance business partnering and policy implementation, including development of a quarterly cost centre P&L reporting template with variance commentary, support for preparation of statutory notes and disclosures, and assistance with income tax and BAS filings. Audit support and the introduction of controls around accruals and intercompany flows were documented as part of the SAP S/4 HANA rollout. Explicit outcomes recorded during and after the implementation included advice and accounting treatment for gift cards aligned to AASB 15, the deployment of a cost centre reporting template, creation of an Eftpos sales report to improve cash forecasting and confirmation of compliance with RBA and ACCC guidelines on payment surcharge. The system was aligned to ALDI Australia payroll cadence and regional payroll delivery, supporting fortnightly pay runs and the operational needs of the Payroll team in Minchinbury. Governance was structured around the Payroll Team Leader as the operational owner for end to end delivery of Region Payroll, with defined responsibilities for compliance with labour laws and payroll legislation, escalation paths for complex award interpretation queries, and ongoing maintenance of employee records. The configuration supported standard Core HR functional workflows and established system stewardship within the payroll function without introducing external implementation partner references.

The program delivered improved maintenance workflows, higher user satisfaction and operational efficiency for users through hands-on training and ongoing support as stated by the project team.
