In 2019, Altel migrated its finance and procurement systems from Oracle E-Business Suite to Oracle Cloud ERP. The migration was executed between July 2019 and October 2019 using Oracle Cloud ERP as the target SaaS platform, and the program concentrated on consolidating core financial operations for the Malaysia-based professional services firm.
The implementation covered Oracle Cloud ERP ERP Financial modules including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Cash Management and General Ledger, and extended to Procurement modules such as Purchasing and Self Service. Configuration work emphasized ledger structure, AP and AR invoice lifecycles, fixed asset accounting and depreciation, cash position controls, and procurement requisition to purchase order processing consistent with ERP Financial functional workflows.
Deployment leveraged Oracle Cloud ERP cloud architecture to centralize transactional finance and procurement processing. The migration process involved data conversion and cutover from Oracle E-Business Suite into Oracle Cloud ERP, preserving master data for suppliers, chart of accounts and fixed assets as part of the system transition.
Governance for the rollout included staged cutover planning across finance and procurement functions and alignment of approval workflows and accounting rules to the new cloud configuration. Operational scope covered finance, treasury and procurement business functions at Altel in Malaysia, with the July to October 2019 delivery window used to sequence configuration, data migration and cutover activities.
