In 2014 Ametek implemented SAP Concur Invoice as its AP Automation platform, replacing Oracle iExpense for invoice and accounts payable processing. The deployment targeted Ametek's North American business units and centralized transaction handling through a Shared Services Center, where accounts payable coordinators perform high volume invoice processing and payment activities.
The deployment of SAP Concur Invoice focused on invoice capture and three way PO matching, configurable approval workflows, and automated payment batch creation for OK to pay invoices. Functional coverage documented in operational roles includes exception handling for match failures, creation of emergency manual checks, supplier onboarding and updates, vendor bank account maintenance, voids and stop payment handling, and support for posting journals to the general ledger and month end reconciliations.
Operational integrations and system interfaces are centered on supplier master data and financial close processes, with SAP Concur Invoice interacting with the general ledger posting workflow and coexisting with the Concur Expense environment for user support and cross functional expense and invoice activities. The implementation therefore links supplier activation and vendor banking maintenance into AP Automation processes and supports downstream tax activities such as W 9 maintenance and 1099 reporting.
Governance and process restructuring concentrated work in the Shared Services Center and formalized AP coordinator responsibilities for payment inquiries, mail processing, and support for tax and financial audits. Workflow orchestration within SAP Concur Invoice established clear routing for approvals and payment batching, while operational procedures codified emergency check processing and journal posting steps to align AP Automation controls with month end and audit requirements.
