In 2014, Apollo Health and Beauty Care migrated from Syspro Manufacturing ERP to ECI Deacom ERP. A project champion and subject matter expert led the program, guiding process design through organization wide training, chairing meetings and assigning tasks to ensure completion of the migration.
The implementation configured ECI Deacom ERP to support core manufacturing cost workflows, emphasizing job cost processing, purchase price variance analysis, overhead allocation, and standard cost maintenance. Apollo used Deacom to update the standard cost of all products and to manage a high product churn environment, approximately 600 new product structures per year, and the project team created cost models to capture previously hidden costs and validate product costing assumptions.
ECI Deacom ERP was implemented as the company Manufacturing ERP platform and consolidated manufacturing cost and production workflows across the organization. The migration replaced Syspro and centralized procurement related price variance handling, job costing in production, and standard cost rollups, aligning finance, manufacturing and procurement processes within a single system of record.
Governance relied on SME ownership for costing and job cost accuracy, with formalized meetings, task assignment and phased training to embed new workflows across departments. The project explicitly delivered updated standard cost processes and cost models that ensured accuracy of all costs including previously hidden costs.
