In 2006 ArcelorMittal Downstream Solutions France implemented Kofax ReadSoft Process Director for SAP, a Document Management application to automate supplier invoice capture and integrate invoice processing with SAP finance modules. The deployment targeted invoice intake and archival workflows for French and Belgian companies and supported two distinct back-offices, Flat Carbone and Stainless Steel, with operational links across France, Belgium and Italy. Sopra Group served as system integrator and the project referenced Tungsten Automation as vendor for components of the solution. Implementation work centered on the ReadSoft Invoice-Cockpit to capture supplier invoices and store them in an OnDemand Archivelink database, alongside extensive FI and EC-PCA customizing for accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger reconciliation. The technical architecture included integration with SAP 4.6C and ECC6 landscapes, installation of web services for a global supplier portal built on .NET using a service oriented architecture, and the development of incoming and outgoing interfaces to support three FI/MM split and merge projects. Integration testing included validation of specific programs developed by an offshore supplier BMS, executed in a CMMI context with SOX compliance requirements for two back-offices. Project governance covered creation of user specification requirements, impact surveys, non-regression tests across FI-AP, AR, GL, CO-OM and EC-PCA, and structured rollout coordination with the prime contractor USPC France and Belgium accounting departments. The engagement included maintenance and enhancement of FI customizing and implementation of FI non-regression testing as part of an ECC6 upgrade program.
