In 2020, AXA Switzerland implemented SAP S/4 HANA to standardize core financial operations. The SAP S/4 HANA deployment targets ERP Financial functions across finance and controlling for the insurer, establishing a single finance platform for statutory and management reporting.
The implementation configured standard ERP Financial modules including core financial accounting, general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial close orchestration and controlling capabilities consistent with SAP S/4 HANA functionality. The deployment also emphasized master data harmonization and integrated ledgers to streamline transaction flows between accounting and controlling domains.
From 2022 the program included a CRM foundation stream, with a Service Owner CRM Foundation appointed in April 2022 to lead release management, lifecycle and security, test management, incident and problem management, and the technical product backlog. In January 2023 AXA Switzerland began preparation of an SAP CRM transformation to align SAP CRM and SAP Marketing onto the SAP S/4 HANA technology stack, extending the operational scope across Finance, CRM and Marketing teams in Winterthur and Zürich.

The implementation leveraged Digital Adoption capabilities to deliver contextual, in-application guidance and microlearning content, using step by step walkthroughs and just in time help to enable employees to grab knowledge as needed. tt Guide was configured to host bite sized learning units and searchable guidance, and to provide usage telemetry and content tagging to help learning teams curate materials aligned with push and pull learning models.
Operational coverage focused on enterprise learning and knowledge management, with primary impact on HR and Learning and Development functions and downstream effects in customer facing and operations teams. The solution was integrated into internal digital workplaces and business applications to surface contextual guidance where employees perform tasks, reinforcing the Digital Adoption relationship between AXA Switzerland, tt Guide, and corporate learning functions.
Governance and rollout emphasized cultural change and process redesign, starting with provisioning new learning materials and authoring workflows to enable subject matter experts and communities to contribute guidance. The program aimed to shift responsibility for employability to individual employees while building an ecosystem that moves AXA from push and pull learning toward greater peer and personal learning.
