UNIT4 Legacy Unit4 ERPx ERP Financial ERP Financial Management Embridge Consulting 2021 2021
In 2021, Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council selected Unit4 ERPx and Talent Management as its ERP Financial platform. The council, serving circa 176,000 citizens with approximately 580 employees and operating a £170 million budget, chose Unit4 ERPx to deliver a cloud, people-centric finance, HR and Payroll capability that can evolve with organisational priorities. The deployment focuses on Unit4 ERPx modules including Financials, Procurement, Project Management, FP&A, HR, Payroll and Talent Management, configured in a modular approach to support staged adoption. Functional workstreams emphasised automation of transactions and back-office processing, implementation of robust budgeting workflows to increase transparency and accountability, and integration of predictive analytics and in-context information to improve planning and dependency visibility. The engagement was executed as a cloud SaaS implementation under Unit4’s ERPx early adopter programme and used Unit4’s Public Sector implementation model to provide generally accepted financial and personnel controls and UK GDPR compliance out of the box. Embridge Consulting served as the implementation partner in a one-team delivery model with Unit4 and the council, accountable for programme delivery, business change and system configuration. Governance was structured around industry best practice implementation approaches with cross-functional budgeting ownership and reworked talent management processes to surface forecasting and resource allocation data. The council will benefit from outcomes articulated in the programme, including freeing up resources to focus on frontline service delivery through automation, the ability to evolve capabilities modularly in line with priorities and budgets, improved collaboration and predictability in budgeting, and enhanced recruitment and workforce visibility through modern talent tools.
