In 2015 BlueStone implemented Microsoft Dynamics NAV as its ERP Financial platform to provide a scalable back office for a rapidly growing online jewellery retail operation. The implementation used a NAV 2016 IN environment, executed over a six month engagement with a four to five person core delivery team, and concluded with a successful go-live where the developer lead transitioned to on-site coordinator during cutover and stabilization.
The deployment focused on core financial management capabilities typical of ERP Financial systems, including configuration of the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset accounting, and inventory financial interfaces. Financial posting rules, standardized journal processes, and basic financial reporting structures were implemented to align bookkeeping and reconciliation with e-commerce order flows.
Microsoft Dynamics NAV was integrated with BlueStone’s existing in-house Order Management System and Product Management System to synchronize orders, product master data, inventory balances, pricing and financial postings. Integration work included mapping order-to-cash transactions into NAV, establishing inventory valuation touchpoints, and automating financial document creation to reduce manual handoffs between OMS, PMS and the ERP Financial environment.
Project governance followed a standard SDLC with planned development, testing, and cutover phases, and on-site coordination during go-live to manage deployment issues and user acceptance. The engagement completed the planned SDLC within the six month timeframe and resulted in a live Microsoft Dynamics NAV environment supporting finance, order-to-cash, procurement and inventory reconciliation workflows for BlueStone.
