In 2012, Burger King implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as part of the corporate merger with Tim Hortons. The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 deployment targeted ERP Financial functions and core cross‑module processes in FI, SD, MM and HR to unify finance, procurement, sales order processing and HR record management.
The implementation included detailed role engineering, using the profile generator to create and modify single roles, composite roles and derived roles for modules such as SD, MM, HR and FI. The team performed GRC workstreams including GRC 10.1 Access Control implementation, post installation and setup of MSMP workflow, and the design, development and activation of GRC 10.1 rule sets to govern access requests and approval flows.
Environment and integration work centered on SAP R/3 ECC 6.0 alongside GRC 5.3 and GRC 10.1 Access Control, with support for system integration testing and user acceptance testing to validate end to end processes. User master data creation and security policy development were maintained as part of ongoing operational coverage, ensuring SAP ERP ECC 6.0 aligned with corporate identity and access management practices.
Governance activities included creation of new activity groups to meet segregation of duties requirements, use of authorization reports to obtain overviews of users and permissions, and formalized procedures for password resets and account provisioning. Troubleshooting on R/3 security issues used system traces and error captures to resolve authorization conflicts and tune security objects.
Operational support and staffing were explicitly addressed through hiring resources specialized in SAP Security and Basis to support production operations. The work stream covered resolving production security issues, supporting users, placing new accounts into appropriate groups, and assisting teams with role conflict resolution during ongoing operations.

| TIBCO Software | Legacy | TIBCO-based Menu Item Management (MIM) | Restaurant Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2015 | 2016 |
In 2015 Burger King deployed TIBCO-based Menu Item Management (MIM) within its Restaurant Management environment to centralize product and menu master data across its global operations. The implementation leverages TIBCO EBX capabilities originating from Orchestra Networks EBX to provide master data and reference data management for menu items and related reference domains.
The configuration focused on a centralized menu item data model, reference data sets for ingredients and attributes, taxonomy and hierarchy management, and built-in stewardship workflows for data creation, validation and approval. TIBCO-based Menu Item Management (MIM) was instrumented to support role-based access and data versioning, aligning with standard master data management patterns for product and menu governance.
Operational coverage emphasized global product and menu data governance, serving as the authoritative source of product/menu information across channels and regions and supporting menu management and product governance functions. Integrations were framed around publishing authoritative reference data to downstream channels and regional operations to ensure consistent representation of menu items.
Governance changes included formalized data stewardship, model-driven reference data control, and workflow-based approvals to enforce data quality and ownership. Reported outcomes for EBX implementations in comparable customers include stronger data governance and more consistent product and menu data across channels and regions.
