In 2019, Caldic implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations to consolidate core financial processes. The deployment targeted Caldic Canada in Mississauga, and focused on ERP Financial controls for accounting, reporting, and transaction processing.
The implementation configured General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, sub-ledgers, bank reconciliation, fixed assets and depreciation, daily and monthly cash balance reporting, and management reporter based reporting. Configuration work emphasized ledger mapping, cost center allocation, business division coding, and master data templates to standardize chart of accounts and supplier data.
Operational activities included master data migration and validation, mapping and coding of chart of accounts and cost centers, and collaboration with AP teams to resolve invoice and purchase order processing issues during transition. The system supported month end close workflows, preparation of audit files for internal and external auditors, vendor claim validation related to marginal cost pricing, and capital expenditure monitoring within the finance organization.
Governance was structured around timely monthly financial close and group submission, with finance roles acting as liaison between divisional associates and departmental managers to enforce accounting controls and data quality. Reporting automation using Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations enabled standardized trend analysis, periodic estimates, and forecasting workflows across the finance function.
