CareSource integrated Epic Payer Platform with electronic clinical data systems to support Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set reporting, and the company serves as a representative on multiple data sharing committees. Those committees include the Indiana Network for Patient Care Management Committee, Ohio’s Health Care Coverage and Quality Council Health Information Technology Task Force, and the American Health Insurance Plans Health Information and Technology and Interoperability Workgroup, which informed methods for using clinical data in HEDIS measures.
Governance changes aligned IT, quality measurement, and population health teams to operationalize electronic clinical data for HEDIS and interoperability initiatives. Epic Payer Platform supports ongoing workflows for claims processing, quality measurement, and care management, while committee participation provided CareSource a forum to standardize reporting approaches using clinical data sources.
