Oracle Legacy Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne ERP Financial ERP n/a 2015 2015
In 2015, Cargill APAC implemented Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne as its ERP Financial system to centralize regional finance operations and accounts payable processing. Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne was positioned to support core finance workflows across Accounts Payable, Cash Management, General Ledger coding, and accounts reconciliation for Cargill APAC finance teams. The implementation included configuration of Accounts Payable payment processing and the Cash Management Module for foreign currency payments, travel and expense workflows, corporate card administration for American Express and Visa, and reconciliations for corporate cards and returned payments. Operational activities documented against the system included verification and creation of banking details and payment templates, manual cheque issuance and follow up on unpresented cheques, and month end processing to ensure all entries were posted prior to closure. Operational coverage extended across finance functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, corporate card programs, and reporting to the Head Office team in Singapore, with hands on support for Cargill Australia operations. The rollout supported high volume payment periods cited as $50 to $150 million during harvest and regular allocation of monthly receipts reported at approximately $50 million, reflecting the system handling significant transaction volumes in the region. Governance and process changes accompanied the rollout, with finance staff reporting to the financial controller, supervision of AP and AR teams, and collaboration with development teams for system testing and upgrades. Program-level activities included staff training and user onboarding, creation of an AP vendor portal for query resolution, implementation of a monthly expense submission reminder application, and process improvements that resulted in retained presented cheques with zero unexplained outstanding and documented reductions in manual expense submissions.
