| SAP | Legacy | SAP Concur Expense | Expense Management | ERP | n/a | 2010 | 2010 |
In 2010, Cars.com implemented SAP Concur Expense to centralize corporate spending controls and expense reporting within its Expense Management environment. The SAP Concur Expense deployment was scoped to support three executives and their combined departments of more than 250 employees, including directors and managers, with administrative workflows that manage travel, meetings, and corporate card reconciliation.
The implementation focused on standard Expense Management capabilities, including electronic expense report submission, receipt capture, corporate card transaction reconciliation, and policy based approval routing for director and manager hierarchies. SAP Concur Expense was used to capture travel and hotel expenses and to associate vendor billing for onsite and offsite meeting costs such as food and beverage and audio visual for groups ranging from 2 to 250. The deployment incorporated automated monthly expense reporting cycles to consolidate all charges on company credit cards issued to administrative staff.
Operational coverage extended to executive support functions responsible for scheduling and coordinating all aspects of meetings and travel, maintaining calendars, and ordering office supplies, while using SAP Concur Expense as the canonical system for expense capture and billing. Governance centered on a monthly reconciliation and expense report execution process for the corporate card issued in the administrator’s name, with approval workflows aligned to director and manager roles in the supported departments. This configuration positioned SAP Concur Expense as Cars.com Expense Management for executive and departmental spend control and travel expense processing.
