SAP Legacy SAP ERP ECC 6.0 ERP Financial ERP n/a 2014 2014
In 2014, Charles River UK implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to centralize ERP Financial functions across its UK operations and to support SOX regulatory reporting for its life sciences business. The deployment targeted core financial processes and compliance workflows within a multinational pharmaceutical context. The implementation encompassed SAP ERP ECC 6.0 financial capabilities, including general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows, and month end financial close orchestration. Security and access control were configured through GRC Access Control 10.1, with Fiori UX provisioned for modernized user access and role based interfaces. Solution Manager and ChaRM were instrumented to manage change requests and transport governance within the SAP landscape. The landscape was administered using standard SAP system segregation across development, quality and production environments, with Solution Manager providing system monitoring and change orchestration. Configuration and administration focused on SAP security policies, role design and periodic access reviews to align with SOX requirements and cross departmental finance needs. Operational ownership included a Senior IT Specialist for SAP Security who was responsible from November 2014 for configuration, implementation and ongoing administration of SAP security solutions across SAP ERP ECC 6.0, GRC Access Control 10.1, Solution Manager, ChaRM and Fiori UX. This governance model emphasized stakeholder engagement to demonstrate compliance with industry regulatory requirements, with access controls and change management embedded into finance and compliance workflows.

SAP Legacy SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding Onboarding HCM n/a 2015 2015
In 2015, Charles River UK implemented SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding as part of a broader SuccessFactors deployment that included recruitment and candidate marketing capabilities, aligning the Onboarding application with its UK hiring operations. The implementation targeted UK sites and European recruitment coordination for a global pharmaceutical employer, with operational responsibility spanning four sites across Essex and Kent and governance over seven departments and more than 20 team leaders and directors. The deployment included configuration of SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding alongside recruitment and recruitment marketing functionality, with workstreams to configure candidate intake, onboarding workflows, and employer brand materials for web and advertising channels. SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding was used to standardize onboarding steps and candidate communications while enabling recruitment marketing tasks such as web page layout and targeted advertising to improve application flow. Integrations and operational collaboration accompanied the rollout, explicitly including the implementation of Personify Search RPO to assist recruitment across Europe and direct coordination with teams in Boston Massachusetts and Holland. The integration and cross-site coordination supported centralized candidate sourcing and regional execution, preserving local hiring workflows across the four UK sites. Governance and process changes were formalized through change implementation and process management activities that placed recruitment and onboarding under a single operational lead in the UK, extending into brand management responsibilities across UK and Europe. Outcomes recorded in the implementation context include managing up to 40 concurrent vacancies, recruiting 79 new hires in the first six months, an extension of a fixed term recruitment contract from six to twelve months after three months, and documented recruitment fee savings of £234,000 versus external agency hiring.
