In 2019, Cheniere implemented Oracle Cloud ERP, migrating core financial and HR processes from Oracle E-Business Suite. The program included a $15M plus Oracle global HCM Cloud applications deployment led by an IT applications director and a project team of more than 35 contract and staff resources, delivering the companys first cloud ERP solution with an explicit 30% cost saving reported for the transition.
Oracle Cloud ERP was configured to support HR HCM and Payroll capabilities alongside Finance, Supply Chain, and Asset Management functional areas, aligning with the ERP Financial category. Implementation work encompassed fit gap analysis and business process optimization for HR, Finance, Supply Chain, and Asset Management, and the narrative emphasizes minimized customizations and delivered standard cloud functional workflows.
Deployment architecture used a shared consultant resource model with a hybrid on and off site presence and a mix of on and off shore staffing. Contract negotiations to implement that shared consulting model reduced total contracted implementation cost by 30% and increased business user availability for project activities by 25 percent, reflecting staffing and engagement design decisions rather than a third party implementation partner reference.
Governance changes included reconfigured workforce plans, cross training programs to support new cloud applications, and a demand driven staffing model that combined on and off shore teams to limit headcount growth. The program explicitly documented business process changes and promoted tools for capacity planning, backlog overview, and KPI monitoring to provide transparency for IT and business stakeholders.
Operational scope included site level purchasing, invoice processing, inventory and asset tracking workflows tied to Oracle transactional processes, and HR onboarding and payroll process improvements overseen during rollout. Outcomes recorded in project documentation included a 30% cost reduction tied to the cloud transition and avoidance of hiring additional resources for three years, reflecting both the technical migration to Oracle Cloud ERP and concurrent process and staffing redesign.

In 2019, Cheniere Energy implemented Oracle Cloud HCM Benefits. Oracle Cloud HCM Benefits, aligned to the Benefits Administration category, was deployed alongside Oracle HCM Cloud modules for Benefits, Talent Management, Compensation and Recruiting to manage the company workforce.
Configuration and delivery work centered on typical Benefits Administration capabilities such as benefits enrollment, eligibility configuration and benefits plan setup, with custom reporting and integration deliverables developed for the program. A named technical contributor single handedly developed reports, integrations and other technical deliverables for Oracle Recruiting Cloud as part of the broader rollout. The implementation included sustained support and maintenance of HCM Cloud integrations to various vendors and other in-house applications, and ongoing development of reports requested by the business for decision support.
Integrations linked Oracle Cloud HCM Benefits with Recruiting Cloud, Core HR and Talent Management modules and with external vendor systems and in-house applications, supporting cross-functional HR workflows from recruiting through benefits provisioning. Operational coverage targeted HR and benefits administration functions at Cheniere Energy, which is headquartered in Houston, Texas. The deployment emphasized integrated business processes and data synchronization across HCM modules.
Governance and operational sustainment were formalized through patch and release management activities, with responsibilities to analyze, test and deploy patch cycles and new release features. The HCM Cloud specialist served as point of contact for business issues, managed enhancements and support activities across Talent Management and Core HR, and maintained reports and application business processes to preserve operational continuity.

In 2015 Cheniere Energy implemented IBM Maximo Application Suite for Enterprise Asset Management at its Sabine Pass liquefaction facility to support the conversion to liquefaction and export operations. The IBM Maximo Application Suite deployment was executed with implementation services from Cohesive Solutions and completed on a tight one year schedule that ran in parallel with a reimplementation of Oracle E-Business Suite Financials.
The deployment configured core Enterprise Asset Management capabilities including inventory control, work management, asset monitoring and maintenance planning, structured workflows for service requests and work orders, and reporting with a catalog of custom reports and KPI instrumentation. IBM Maximo Application Suite was used to model the production trains and to automate work order routing through review, financial approval, planning, scheduling and completion.
The Maximo implementation integrated with Oracle Financials to support end to end procure to pay scenarios and with an OSIsoft PI Historian feed for live runtime monitoring, enabling Maximo to create purchase requisitions that route to Oracle and to consume historian data for runtime analysis. Operational coverage focused on Sabine Pass maintenance, outage planning, procurement and finance teams, tying operational activities to financial approvals and inventory control across the asset lifecycle.
Cheniere Energy established detailed business process mapping and governance prior to cutover to ensure consistent maintenance, procurement and financial workflows, and defined more than 50 custom reports for maintenance personnel. Explicit outcomes called out by the program include improved maintenance planning and scheduling, boosted efficiency, maximized uptime, improved safety and compliance, and reduced costs through smarter maintenance and inventory management, with a roadmap to enable predictive maintenance as historical runtime data accumulates.
