In 2019 CIBC US implemented Workday Compensation as part of a broader Workday HR Talent Suite deployment covering Core HR, Performance, Compensation, Succession and Recruitment for Bank USA employees. Workday Compensation was positioned to centralize compensation planning workflows and to operate within the Compensation Management category for salary, merit and bonus planning cycles across the bank U.S. workforce.
The implementation configured Workday Compensation around formal compensation cycles, eligibility rules and integration points with performance ratings and succession data to support merit and incentive processes. Configuration activities included defining business cycle calendars, compensation plan templates, role based eligibility, and automation of approval routing to align compensation decisions with ongoing performance management and succession planning initiatives.
Integrations were developed in collaboration with the Group Functions IT team to connect compensation workflows with performance, recruitment and succession processes, and the project included HCM cutover and day by day deployment planning. The program emphasized a testing discipline that covered unit testing, a documented testing strategy, user acceptance testing and test scenario management to validate compensation calculations and approval flows prior to go live.
Governance and rollout were organized through structured requirement gathering with HR business stakeholders, detailed deployment calendars and post deployment support workflows including communications with the Ask HR Team. Training and enablement were delivered through training manuals, quick videos and end user guides to introduce new Workday Compensation functionality and to support HR teams administering compensation programs.

In 2015, CIBC US implemented FIS Integrated Banking System IBS to centralize Core Banking operations across its U.S. retail and corporate processing footprint. The FIS Integrated Banking System IBS became the primary platform for deposit account servicing, transaction posting, and account lifecycle management supporting both back-office and front-office workflows.
Implementation records reference configuration and operational use of FIS modules including IBS Insight, Deposit Origination, and BIC, which were applied to account opening and deposit origination workflows, exception monitoring, and documentation management. Functional capabilities aligned with Core Banking encompassed account maintenance, payments and wire processing, posting and reconciliation, and regulatory documentation workflows tied to AML compliance.
Operational coverage included CIBC US processing sites and staff in the Greater Chicago area, with explicit operator locations at 70 W Madison and 120 S LaSalle, and a mix of hybrid and remote work arrangements. Business functions impacted included back office operations, client account servicing, wire and loan transaction processing, and compliance teams responsible for daily exception handling and documentation control.
Governance and process restructuring focused on cross-departmental root cause analysis of aged exceptions, daily exception monitoring to ensure AML and legal compliance, and operational readiness checks for technology and process changes. Internal operational notes cite an average accuracy rate of 98% on daily tasks and process improvements that reduced recurring issues and lowered record-keeping errors by up to 75% in specific workflows.

| Alteryx | Legacy | Alteryx One Platform | Analytics and BI | Analytics and BI | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017, CIBC US deployed Alteryx One Platform as a core element of its Analytics and BI capability. The deployment is positioned inside the CIBC US Data and Analytics organization to support data engineering, reporting automation, exploratory data analysis, and leadership-facing analytics functions.
Alteryx One Platform is configured to run end to end automation and data preparation workflows, with the analytics team leveraging Alteryx alongside Python and advanced SQL to build repeatable processes and analytic pipelines. Implemented capabilities emphasize analytic process automation, data wrangling, workflow orchestration, and the generation of prepared data extracts for financial reporting.
The implementation integrates explicitly with Databricks, where Python scripts and Spark jobs are developed in Databricks notebooks to automate reporting deliverables and to maintain continuous data ingestion pipelines. Downstream consumption is handled through Microsoft SQL Server extracts and interactive Power BI dashboards, with Alteryx workflows preparing and enriching data for those reporting and visualization layers.
Operational governance is centered on Data and Analytics ownership for pipeline maintenance, change control, and automation rollout, with standardized ETL patterns and scripted workflows to support reliability. The Alteryx One Platform deployment supports CIBC US business functions by enabling automated reporting, supplying data extracts for financial reporting requirements, and empowering leadership decision making through prepared datasets and Power BI visualizations.
