| Exela Technologies | Legacy | Exela Lockbox | AR Automation | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2016 | 2016 |
In 2016, Citibank deployed Exela Technologies Exela Lockbox under the AR Automation category to centralize remittance processing and electronic explanation of benefits handling within accounts receivable. The deployment targeted high volume payment flows and remittance file processing as core AR Automation use cases for Citi Bank receivables operations.
The Exela Lockbox implementation encompassed remittance ingestion and parsing, EDI 835 and 837 EOB generation, exception routing and reconciliation, and reporting and audit trail capabilities consistent with AR Automation functional patterns. Customization and product configuration work referenced in project records used a Microsoft stack including .Net and C#, SQL Server, IIS, HTML and Bootstrap, indicating a Windows application hosting and database architecture with web front end components.
Integrations focused on consuming bank remittance feeds and producing standardized electronic EOBs for downstream posting and client reconciliation workflows, aligning Exela Lockbox with Citi Bank payment acceptance and posting processes. Operational coverage included coordination between on shore Exela managers and offshore development teams in Chennai, India, to support deployment, testing, and ongoing technical troubleshooting for Citibank accounts receivable teams.
Project governance for the Exela Lockbox rollout followed formal project plans, with defined scope, stakeholder and risk management, escalation to upper management, and coordinated resource allocation across on shore and offshore teams. Product training and post go live support were provided as part of the implementation, with technical project managers and senior engineers responsible for solution design, configuration changes and operational handover.

| Sterling Talent Solutions | Legacy | Sterling Background Check | BackGround Screening | HCM | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017, Citibank implemented Sterling Background Check. The Sterling Background Check deployment was executed as a BackGround Screening capability to support Talent Acquisition, recruitment, assessment and onboarding workflows within Citibank’s HR and recruiting functions.
The implementation included custom inbound and outbound integration modules to transfer job applicant records and to post background check and assessment results back into the recruiting system. Sterling Background Check was configured to receive and return status and result payloads, while assessment result integrations were built to update SuccessFactors Recruiting Management via the Assessment Report API. Data mapping artifacts and integration requirement documents were developed for each interface to standardize payload transformation and error handling.
DELL Boomi served as the central integration platform, orchestrating API driven exchanges between SuccessFactors RCM, SuccessFactors Onboarding, People Answers assessment services, Sterling BGC, SAP ERP HCM and SAP PI. The integration architecture used SuccessFactors APIs including Job Application, Job Requisition and Assessment Report API to drive record synchronization, and Boomi process shapes and connectors to manage workflow orchestration and message routing across systems.
Governance and operationalization included coordination with SuccessFactors functional consultants and Citibank functional teams, development of detailed data mapping and integration requirement documents, and participation in cutover activities and hyper care. Operational coverage centered on recruiting, assessment, background screening and downstream HCM record updates, with deployment practices emphasizing documented mappings, integration validation with People Answers and Sterling teams, and post cutover support.

| Broadcom | Legacy | AppWorx Workload Automation | Business Process Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2021 | 2021 |
In 2021, Citibank implemented AppWorx Workload Automation within its Business Process Management estate. The deployment centralized job scheduling and workload orchestration used to trigger calls to third party APIs and execute Oracle database procedures from the bank's full stack application stack.
AppWorx Workload Automation was configured to schedule and monitor batch ETL flows developed in Node.js using OAuth 2.0, and to coordinate microservice workflows built on Spring Boot and Express. The implementation supported functional capabilities including job scheduling, dependency orchestration, retry and error handling for database stored procedure calls, and timed API integrations that were invoked from application code.
Integrations surfaced in the implementation included Oracle Database for CRUD and PL/SQL package execution, Apigee gateway for authentication and static content caching, Jenkins-driven CI CD pipelines to promote jobs and artifacts to Azure App Service, and Splunk plus Azure Application Insights for telemetry and alerting. Terraform scripts and Azure resource modules were used to automate App Service scaling and network configuration, with Nginx reverse proxying retained for traffic routing.
Operational governance was enforced through Agile processes with JIRA for task and defect management, GitLab merge request policies for version control, and test driven practices using Cucumber and Mocha to validate scheduled job behaviors before deployment. The implementation also embedded a custom logging microservice that recorded file actions such as Approve, Cancel, and Export into Oracle to support auditability and operational troubleshooting.
