In 2005 City of Pasadena ran an RFP and implemented Legal Files Matter and Legal Case Management. The Office of the City Attorney and Prosecutor began operational use in January 2006 to manage civil, prosecution and claims matters, as part of a municipal Case Management deployment in the United States.
The Legal Files Matter and Legal Case Management implementation consolidated case and document management functions, delivering calendaring, task tracking and document retrieval capabilities and provisioning support for electronic filing to reduce paper handling. Configuration emphasized matter lifecycle workflows, centralized document repositories, deadline and calendar management, and role-based access aligned to prosecutorial and civil legal workflows.
Rollout followed the RFP timeline with the City Attorney office as the primary operational owner and the system supporting legal business functions across civil, prosecution and claims workflows. The implementation improved calendaring, task tracking and document retrieval and supported the city’s move toward e-files and reduced paper.
