Workday Legacy Workday Absence Management Absence and Leave Management HCM n/a 2018 2018
In 2018, CME Group implemented Workday Absence Management. The deployment placed Workday Absence Management inside CME Group's broader Workday HCM footprint and established the platform as the enterprise Absence and Leave Management solution supporting HR absence administration and people analytics workflows. The implementation covered functional areas already supported by the Workday production environment, including HCM, Recruiting, Absence, Time Tracking, and Talent. Configuration work emphasized security and system process flow maps, while sub-administrator reviews and configuration evaluation ensured consistent use of absence plans, leave types, eligibility rules, approval routing, and absence balance tracking typical of Absence and Leave Management platforms. Integrations were managed in partnership with IT, specifically for Workday data integrations and system authentication, and the HR technology team coordinated reporting integration with Workday reports, dashboards, and discovery boards. The HR analytics team used Workday to design and develop reports and dashboards and surfaced Qualtrics survey dashboards to HR and business leaders, while JIRA was enhanced to track production support tickets and enhancement requests tied to absence processes. Operational governance included prioritizing the support and enhancements queue, conducting complex system testing, identifying discrepancies and formulating remediation plans, and delivering HR technology communications and training to sub-administrators and HR stakeholders. Ongoing run and build responsibilities balanced production support with iterative configuration improvements, aligning absence workflows with global HR and Technology stakeholders.

Broadcom Legacy AppWorx Workload Automation Business Process Management ERP Services and Operations n/a 2020 2020
In 2020, CME Group implemented AppWorx Workload Automation as part of a program to harmonize service entities and extend self service capabilities following the acquisition of Navy Exchange NEX. The initiative targeted consolidation and de-duplication of service entities and their properties across multiple databases, and specifically accounted for two NEX entity types, Broker Tec and Electronic Broking Services EBS, to provide a unified experience in the Request Center application. Scope included support for trading lifecycle functions across futures, cash and OTC business areas and coordination with downstream application owners to align operational workflows. AppWorx Workload Automation was configured as a centralized orchestration layer within the Business Process Management environment, provisioning scheduled batch job orchestration, event driven workflows, workload monitoring and automated runbooks to support data consolidation and request processing. Functional capabilities implemented included job scheduling, error handling and automated retry logic, as well as workflow instrumentation to enable integration testing and production checkouts. The implementation integrated automated test frameworks as part of the delivery pipeline to validate job flows and data transformations prior to release. Integrations tied AppWorx to REST APIs exercised during API validation with Postman, to multiple transactional databases using complex SQL for consolidation verification, and into CI/CD and source control toolchains including Jenkins and GitHub for continuous integration of automation artifacts. The deployment was coordinated with UX teams to embed orchestration outputs into the enhanced Request Center wireframes, and with downstream application owners to limit disruption to dependent systems. Issue tracking and defect lifecycle management were handled through JIRA to align testing, remediation and release activities across global and offshore teams. Governance and delivery followed Agile release planning and sprint cadences, with an IT program manager responsible for project scope, sprint planning, user story definition and production checkout procedures. Testing disciplines documented and executed included functional testing, regression testing, system integration testing, security testing and user acceptance testing, with formal defect review meetings to trace root cause. The program emphasized Business Process Management controls, release gates and cross functional coordination to manage orchestration across trading and service entity workflows.
