In 2016, Co-op implemented Oracle Cloud ERP as its ERP Financial platform, migrating from Oracle E-Business Suite (R12) to an Oracle Fusion SaaS environment to centralize HR and payroll financial processes. The program targeted enterprise HR, payroll and talent functions and was structured into phased deliveries, with Phase 2 covering Oracle Performance and Taleo Recruit, and Phase 3 delivering Core HR, Payroll, Compensations, Benefits, Time & Labour and related integrations.
Oracle Cloud ERP was configured with a focus on Oracle Fusion HCM modules, with the delivery team acting as Subject Matter Experts for functional design and data migration. The implementation included the largest Oracle Fusion Payroll implementation in the UK, and the project managed testing and quality assurance across Unit Testing, System Integration Testing, Operational Acceptance Testing and User Acceptance Testing to validate payroll, compensation and time and labour workflows.
The deployment architecture supported co-existence between Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Fusion during the transition, driven by a formal Data Migration Strategy and large scale data transformation and cleansing activities. Data governance, cutover leadership and cutover sequencing were explicit responsibilities, and integrations were scoped to maintain transactional continuity between on-premise EBS instances and the new Cloud ERP modules. Delivery was executed in partnership with IBM, with the implementation team overseeing the partner relationship and integration points.
Governance processes emphasized risk, issue and change request management throughout the project lifecycle, with a named Senior Project Manager leading data governance, cutover and testing activities. The program completed conversion activities that enabled coexistence and delivered substantial savings and new functionality for the client during 2017.

In 2017 Co-op implemented Oracle Cloud HCM Benefits as part of a broader Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP rollout, positioning the application within the Benefits Administration category to support companywide HR and payroll objectives. The deployment was executed during a multi-phase program that delivered substantial savings and new functionality for Co-op during 2017 and included what was described as the largest Oracle Fusion Payroll implementation in the United Kingdom.
The implementation covered Oracle Cloud HCM Benefits alongside Core HR, Payroll, Compensations, Benefits, Time & Labour and integrations for Phase 3, with Phase 2 delivering Oracle Performance and Taleo Recruit. Functional workstreams included functional design and configuration, data migration planning, testing and quality assurance, and compensation and benefits administration workflows aligned to Benefits Administration best practices.
Architecturally the program established a SaaS Cloud Oracle Fusion environment that operated in coexistence with Oracle R12 and Oracle EBS during the phased transition, requiring environment coexistence controls and integration points between Fusion modules and EBS. Data Governance and Cutover leadership oversaw a large scale data transformation and cleansing effort to enable coexistence, and the implementation progressed through Unit Testing, System Integration Testing, Operational Acceptance Testing and User Acceptance Testing.
Program governance emphasized risk, issue and change request management, with a project team responsible for testing and quality assurance and a data migration strategy created for Phases 2 and 3. Delivery was executed in partnership with an external implementation partner IBM, and domain leadership included Oracle EBS enablement to maintain operational continuity while new Oracle Cloud HCM Benefits capabilities were provisioned across HR and payroll functions covering Co-op’s 65,000 employees.

| Salesforce | Legacy | Salesforce Chat (formerly Salesforce Live Agent) | Chatbots and Conversational AI | AI-Powered Application | n/a | 2020 | 2020 |
In 2020, Co-op implemented Salesforce Chat (formerly Salesforce Live Agent) on its website to provide real time conversational support. The deployment places Salesforce Chat squarely in the Chatbots and Conversational AI category to support customer service and digital engagement workflows for the retailer.
The implementation focused on configuring the Salesforce Chat web widget and routing rules, including pre chat data capture, queue and presence handling, and chat transcript persistence. Salesforce Chat was configured to deliver synchronous agent handoffs and automated response patterns typical of Chatbots and Conversational AI deployments, with emphasis on session management and agent console workflows.
Operational coverage centers on the Co-op website, where Salesforce Chat handles customer inquiries originating from digital storefront pages and member service areas, and supports contact center agents and customer service teams. The deployment aligns the application with retail customer service functions, enabling web native conversational sessions to be managed within the Salesforce Chat environment.
Governance and operational changes included standardizing chat routing rules, establishing agent handling protocols, and defining operating hours and escalation workflows for chat interactions. Configuration and process documentation was created to capture chat handling procedures and to coordinate handoffs between automated responses and live agent interventions.
