In 2013 Colruyt Group implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its ERP Financial platform to centralize finance and accounting functions and to establish a formal roadmap and architecture for SAP Financials. The program defined a clear set of deliverables and responsibilities focused on delivering a solid architecture and a phased roadmap design to assure implementation of SAP Financials across the organization.
Implementation scope concentrated on core SAP ERP ECC 6.0 financial modules, including Financial Accounting, Controlling, General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, with configuration workstreams for chart of accounts rationalization, financial closing, statutory reporting and intercompany accounting. The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 deployment emphasized standard ERP Financial workflows, accounting master data harmonization, period close orchestration and configuration controls to replace home grown finance processes with integrated package capabilities.
Integration planning addressed a complex and scattered application landscape, with explicit requirements to assure robust interfaces and to minimize operational impact on other departments. The architecture and roadmap prioritized a consolidated interface strategy, master data governance, batch and near real time exchange patterns, and defined data migration and reconciliation processes to protect finance transactional integrity while coexisting with existing systems.
Governance and organizational change workstreams were built into the roadmap to manage mindset change from home made applications to integrated packages, and to limit disruption to non finance departments. The program specified cross functional governance, staged rollout sequencing, business process alignment, training and change management to embed SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as the enterprise ERP Financial backbone.
