Temenos Legacy Temenos T24 Core Banking ERP Services and Operations n/a 2017 2018
In 2017 Bank of Oromia implemented Temenos T24 as its Core Banking platform, deploying Temenos UniversalSuite to support the bank's universal banking activities across front to back office operations. The rollout also included Temenos Connect for front office digital channels and the vendor business intelligence product Insight BI, positioning Temenos T24 as the central transaction and analytics engine for the bank. The implementation used Temenos' Ethiopian model bank as the baseline configuration, enabling standard Core Banking capabilities such as account management, deposit processing, payments orchestration, and lending workflows together with digital channel orchestration. United System Integrators USi executed configuration and cutover activities following Temenos implementation methodology, aligning template configuration with the bank's operational processes and data migration requirements. Operational scope covered a full migration of 256 branches and 2.5 million customer records from OmniEnterprise supplied by InfrasoftTech, executed in a big bang go live. USi reports the project reached production in four and a half months, delivering Temenos T24 as the single core platform integrating branch operations, retail and corporate servicing, and digital channels under UniversalSuite. Governance and rollout relied on Temenos methodology and the Ethiopian model bank to standardize workflows and reduce bespoke development, with local implementation ownership by USi. The program marked Bank of Oromia as an early adopter at its scale for a big bang Temenos T24 implementation in Ethiopia, where Temenos is already deployed across multiple banks including Bank of Abyssinia, Nib International Bank, Development Bank of Ethiopia and Commercial Bank of Ethiopia.
