| SAP | Legacy | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2016 | 2017 |
In 2016, CPFL Energia implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its ERP Financial platform to centralize corporate finance and accounting across the group of electric generation and distribution companies in Brazil. The selection of SAP S/4 HANA and SAP HANA Cloud Platform followed a competitive evaluation that included Oracle, Salesforce.com and IBM, and was positioned as the core of a broader SAP-led enterprise application suite for the company.
The SAP S/4 HANA deployment emphasized financial modules consistent with ERP Financial use cases, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, financial close orchestration and financial reporting. The implementation leveraged SAP HANA Cloud Platform and in-memory database technology to support real time transaction processing and analytics, and was configured to provide standardized chart of accounts and master data models for group level consolidation.
Integrations implemented as part of the program included SAP SuccessFactors for human capital management, SAP Ariba for procurement and supplier management, SAP Fieldglass for contingent workforce processes and SAP Hybris Cloud for Sales to support commercial and sales order workflows. Operational coverage extended across finance, procurement, HR and sales functions within CPFL Energia’s Brazilian generation and distribution entities, enabling end to end record to report and procure to pay flows.
Governance changes focused on centralized financial process controls, common master data governance and standardized approval workflows to support cross‑company consistency and regulatory reporting. The vendor decision and solution set were intended to support the company’s stated objectives of business model and process transformation, greater efficiency, innovation and lower total cost of ownership.

In 2015, CPFL Energia implemented SAP Fieldglass for Contingent Labor Management to centralize contractor procurement and manage the contractor lifecycle across its operations in Brazil. The SAP Fieldglass deployment was provisioned alongside SAP S/4HANA and SAP HANA Cloud Platform, aligning contingent workforce processes with the companys broader SAP landscape.
The implementation focused on core Contingent Labor Management capabilities, including supplier and vendor management, worker onboarding and offboarding workflows, time and services capture, statement of work orchestration, and compliance controls for contractor classification. SAP Fieldglass was configured to enforce standardized rate cards, approval hierarchies, and role-based access to support procurement and HR use cases.
Integrations were established between SAP Fieldglass and SAP S/4HANA and SAP HANA Cloud Platform to synchronize master data, procurement records, and financial posting information, enabling end-to-end visibility from requisition to invoicing. Operational coverage targeted CPFL Energia business functions in procurement and human resources, using the combined SAP stack to reduce manual reconciliation between contingent labor records and core finance and procurement ledgers.
Governance was structured to consolidate supplier qualification, contract lifecycle controls, and approval workflows within SAP Fieldglass, shifting contingent labor intake and vendor governance into a single managed process. The rollout emphasized configuration-driven controls and process standardization to embed contingent workforce governance into CPFL Energias existing SAP operational model.

| Hexagon | Legacy | HxGN EAM (Ex. Infor EAM) | Enterprise Asset Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018 CPFL Energia configured and deployed HxGN EAM (Ex. Infor EAM) to establish a centralized Enterprise Asset Management capability for asset and maintenance management. The deployment emphasized asset lifecycle control and maintenance orchestration within the utilities operational context of CPFL Energia.
The HxGN EAM (Ex. Infor EAM) implementation covered core Enterprise Asset Management functional modules typical for utility operations, including an enterprise asset register, work order management, preventive maintenance scheduling, parts and inventory control, and configuration for maintenance planning and execution. Configuration and customization work was performed to align the application with company-specific asset hierarchies and maintenance workflows, with definition of role-based access and operational parameters for field teams and maintenance planners.
Operational scope focused on supporting maintenance and operations functions with implementation activities led from Campinas, SP, where project delivery and configuration were managed. Integration touchpoints were defined to align EAM workflows with procurement, finance, and field operations processes, and to enable data handoffs for work execution, spare parts allocation, and cost capture, consistent with Enterprise Asset Management best practices.
Project governance used a PMBOK-based company methodology with MS-Project for schedule control, formal budget composition and cash flow monitoring, supplier delivery management, stakeholder engagement, and executive committee reporting. The implementation was managed as part of a portfolio of IT projects that included software development, customization, and complementary initiatives such as an electronic signature solution and a contract management tool, with the IT project manager responsible for delivery oversight, schedule baselining, risk identification, and status communications.
