In 2015, Crescent Hotels and Resorts deployed Sage Business Cloud X3 (ex Sage ERP X3) as its ERP Financial application. The implementation was executed within a broader corporate IT estate that included data center operations, VMware virtualization, domain controllers, and on premise Exchange messaging infrastructure.
Sage Business Cloud X3 accounting and associated financial workflows were configured to support core ERP Financial functions including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and purchasing, with ProfitSage used alongside Sage X3 to support accounting processes. Configuration work focused on financial posting rules, chart of accounts alignment and transaction automation consistent with midmarket hospitality finance operations.
The deployment was integrated into an established infrastructure that included Egnyte ELC file sharing server, VPN services, Dell Sonicwall and Sophos firewalls, Veeam backups, Avast antivirus, and AppRiver spam filtering. Microsoft Office 365 services were provisioned, Active Directory Connect was set up, and 125 user accounts plus over 300 mail contact accounts were migrated to O365, while more than 500 Active Directory and Exchange user accounts remained administered on premise.
Operational governance covered domain records management for more than 50 domains and end user lifecycle processes for corporate staff and select hotel personnel. Onboarding and termination workflows were standardized to include procurement and setup of endpoint equipment, network and email account provisioning, and program access rights, and file storage was relocated from on premise to Egnyte to provide cloud based access for staff across the United States and Canada.

Integrations and operational coverage were scoped to support property-level disciplines and accounting linkages, with Profitsage explicitly noted as part of the onboarding touchpoints. Operational rollout and ongoing use occurred at multiple Crescent properties, including Crowne Plaza Englewood New Jersey, DoubleTree Atlanta Airport, Homewood Suites OSU, Post Card Inn, Atlanta Evergreen Resort, The Inn at Stone Mountain, and Denver Inverness Golf and Spa Resort, reflecting a property-by-property adoption model aligned to hotel transitions.
Governance for the rollout relied on a task force model to manage General Manager transitions and to work side by side with departments during onboarding and renovation periods. The task force approach was applied to ensure continuity of HR and accounting processes and to support ownership objectives, with recent assignments reported as successful at the listed properties.
