The implementation covered Core HR and Workforce Administration, Compensation Workbench, Absence Management, Advanced Benefits, Payroll, Employee Self Service and Manager Self Service, Taleo Recruiting and Learning, and Time & Labor (OTL) functionality, with detailed configuration of absence structures, eligibility, fast formulas, PTO accrual plans, elements, element links, flexfields, organizations and payroll setups. Cummins integrated the absence solution with multiple downstream systems and interfaces using PL/SQL, HCM Extracts, BI Publisher data models, OTBI/OBIE analytics and outbound interfaces to third parties (including Manulife and ADP e‑TIME/Payforce), and supported Taleo-to‑Cloud candidate imports and coexistence data flows with PeopleSoft. Implementation and operations included production support, development of daily/weekly OTBI dashboards and BI Publisher reports for HR metrics, conversion programs and data warehousing work, AIM methodology for project delivery, and roadmap/upgrade planning for Absence Management and Time & Labor.

In 2015, Cummins implemented AppWorx Workload Automation from Broadcom as part of its Business Process Management tooling to orchestrate batch scheduling and cross-application process flows. The deployment was applied to support financial operations at the Columbus Indiana site and was integrated into an Oracle Applications R12.1.3 environment that included AR, AP, GL, CM, INV, OM, PO, AOL and system administration modules.
AppWorx Workload Automation was configured to manage job scheduling, dependency orchestration, monitoring and alerting for RICEW interfaces and custom batch jobs. The implementation supported inbound and outbound interfaces, automated execution of PL/SQL and SQL-driven processes against Oracle Database 11g, and coordination of report generation tasks for Oracle Reports and BI Publisher, as well as data loads using WEBADI and DATALOAD.
Operational scope covered Finance and IT operations, with AppWorx driving period end batch windows and interface sequencing across Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger and Cash Management. Governance and support workflows used MD050 and MD070 documentation for configuration control, BMC Remedy for incident and change management, and regular root cause analysis with Oracle support to resolve production issues and maintain scheduled orchestration.
