The project team delivered an eight volume functional and non-functional specification documentation suite, performing a customized gap analysis to ensure complete coverage of approximately 2,200 EAM/ERP business requirements. The discovery produced scored technical documentation for executive sign-off, and the project established agile delivery artifacts including sprint plans, a prioritized backlog, epics and user stories. Initial Jira boards were provisioned for issue tracking and reporting, and standard office artefacts such as Visio diagrams, Word specifications, Excel workbooks and VLOOKUP-driven traceability matrices were used to map requirements to the IBM Maximo target state. Discovery work included elicitation of the current state of existing applications, explicitly documenting feature and non-functional specifications for Lawson, Siebel CRM and in-house applications as inputs to the IBM Maximo consolidation strategy. Separate vendors were identified as responsible for design, development, testing and deployment of the Maximo solution, requiring the discovery outputs to be consumable across multiple delivery teams. Technical documentation was evaluated and scored to provide objective inputs for executive-level decision making and sign-off. Governance activities focused on aligning stakeholders through Agile and Scrum meetings that included DART C-level procurement, EAM, transportation and business personnel, with weekly status reporting to maintain executive visibility. The engagement emphasized rigorous gap closure between business requirements and the functional/non-functional specifications to mitigate scope leakage during downstream design and build phases. IBM Maximo was restated as the central Enterprise Asset Management application, and implementation readiness artifacts were handed off to the design and delivery teams for subsequent development and testing.
