In 2024, De Volksbank implemented Oracle Cloud ERP together with Oracle Fusion Cloud EPM to consolidate and modernize its ERP Financial stack. The deployment targeted the finance organization of the Dutch retail bank, aligning financial reporting, consolidation, and planning on a single cloud platform to support group reporting needs and tighter finance-to-banking alignment.
The implementation configured core financial management modules including general ledger, consolidation and close orchestration, financial reporting automation, and Enterprise Performance Management planning and forecasting capabilities. Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP and EPM features were used to embed automation into recurring close and reporting workflows, explicitly to help save time across financial reporting functions.
Operational architecture emphasizes a cloud SaaS deployment model, with Oracle Cloud ERP integrated into De Volksbank operational flows to improve the flexibility and agility of its core banking systems. Integrations were scoped to link transactional finance flows and reporting outputs with existing core banking systems and downstream statutory reporting channels, maintaining continuity for corporate finance and regulatory reporting teams.
Governance changes focused on centralizing financial close governance, standardizing accounting policies, and introducing automated approval workflows and role based access controls across finance teams. The program was positioned to deliver time savings in financial reporting and to increase the agility of core banking operations by consolidating ERP Financial processes on Oracle Cloud ERP and Oracle Fusion Cloud EPM.

In 2008 De Volksbank implemented AFAS for HRM and payroll, establishing AFAS as the institution's HR backbone. The implementation covered the Apps Category . During 2020 to 2022 the bank ran a focused optimisation that replaced custom-built leave and absence tools with standard AFAS workflows and rolled AFAS Absence and Leave into core HR processes.
The AFAS Absence and Leave deployment centralized absence case management and standardized leave workflows inside the AFAS HR backbone. Configuration work emphasized workflow-driven approvals, formalized absence types, automated notifications, and case documentation to reduce manual intervention and to align absence processing with payroll inputs.
Integrations were explicitly implemented with Valicare and the bank's Arbodienst for occupational-health case handling, enabling structured data flows and handovers between HR, occupational health services, and external care providers. Operational coverage was within the Netherlands and the solution impacted HR, payroll, and occupational health functions across the bank.
Governance shifted from custom point-solutions to standardized AFAS processes during the 2020 to 2022 programme, consolidating absence rules, audit trails, and handover protocols within AFAS Absence and Leave. According to the bank the optimisation shortened processing times and reduced manual work while maintaining AFAS as the central HR system.

In 2019, De Volksbank implemented ServiceNow AI Platform to consolidate IT service management and enable intelligent automation across its centralized IT organization. The deployment used ServiceNow AI Platform in the Generative AI Platforms category to create a single system of record for assets, incidents, and service requests supporting the bank's multi-brand operating model.
The implementation configured ServiceNow Incident Management, ServiceNow Problem Management, ServiceNow Change and Release Management, a centralized configuration management database CMDB, and a self-service portal with chat-enabled knowledge access. The Now Platform was also used to build a custom business application focused on the incident and loss process to register and report on data leakages and the financial implications of incidents.
The solution was delivered as a cloud-based approach to remove maintenance and upgrade burden and to enable tighter orchestration and automation of service delivery. De Volksbank worked with implementation partner Paphos Group during the rollout to deliver the self-service portal, automation of request routing, and enhanced reporting and monitoring capabilities.
Operational governance centralized processes across IT, standardizing asset and task information in the CMDB and automating request, incident, and change workflows to shift teams from manual handling to automated assignment and remediation. Reported outcomes tied to the deployment include improved visibility with a single system of record, always-on self-service for employees, a 25% improvement in IT efficiency from auto-assigning incidents, a 7.5% reduction in change effort, and reduced upgrade lead times to a maximum of three weeks, enabling continued in-house application development.
