In 2014, Dilmah Tea implemented Oracle E-Business Suite as its ERP Financial application. The deployment established a unified platform to support core financial control and integrated supply chain planning for the 644-employee consumer packaged goods company headquartered in Sri Lanka.
Oracle E-Business Suite configurations focused on core financial capabilities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and fixed assets, implemented to meet ERP Financial reporting and transactional workflows. The project explicitly incorporated Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning to deliver demand planning, supply scheduling, and procurement sequencing as part of the suite configuration.
IBM India and IBM Sri Lanka participated on supply chain management workstreams, collaborating with Dilmah teams to integrate Advanced Supply Chain Planning outputs into operational supply chain processes. The implementation connected financial posting and cost accounting flows with supply chain transactions to support procure to pay and order to cash processing across finance and supply chain functions.
Governance was organized through a Second level core team member structure, with Dilmah staff holding configuration and control responsibilities while partner teams executed supply chain planning tasks. Process standardization, role based access controls, and workflow approvals were configured within Oracle E-Business Suite to align operational procedures with the new ERP Financial platform.
