Guidewire Legacy Guidewire BillingCenter Insurance Billing Administration ERP Services and Operations n/a 2019 2019
In 2019, Donegal Insurance Group implemented Guidewire BillingCenter as part of a coordinated Guidewire platform adoption to strengthen billing and receivables operations. Donegal Insurance Group implemented Guidewire BillingCenter in a broader program that targets core insurance operations across its mid-Atlantic, Southeast, and Midwest footprints and across its Workers’ Compensation, Commercial, and Personal lines of business. The Guidewire BillingCenter deployment aligns with the Insurance Billing Administration category and was configured to support core billing workflows, account and installment management, payment processing, and receivables orchestration consistent with standard Insurance Billing Administration capabilities. The overall implementation sits alongside Guidewire underwriting and policy administration components, and the platform architecture includes client data, product content, rating, reinsurance management, enterprise-wide data management, and business intelligence modules that are being provisioned to operate together with BillingCenter. Guidewire BillingCenter was integrated into an environment that already includes Guidewire ClaimCenter and PolicyCenter, and the program explicitly uses Guidewire Analytics to embed predictive insights into ClaimCenter and PolicyCenter to form a Smart Core architecture. Ernst & Young EY LLP supported the implementation as the Guidewire PartnerConnect Consulting partner, providing integration and program delivery support between billing, claims, policy, and analytics components. Governance and operational rollout focused on aligning workflows and data models across policy, claims, and billing domains, with centralization of enterprise data management and BI to enable consistent processing rules and reporting. The initiative was described by Donegal leadership as streamlining workflows and significantly enhancing processing efficiency, and it was positioned to align product and technology roadmaps with Donegal’s business and growth strategies.

Microsoft Legacy Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) Analytics and BI Analytics and BI n/a 2015 2018
In 2015, Donegal Insurance Group implemented Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) under the Analytics and BI apps category. The engagement centered on establishing a centralized SQL Server based data warehouse and reporting stack to standardize enterprise reporting and analytical consumption across the organization. The project team participated in designing the ETL architecture using SSIS to extract data from open hub tables, transform it into star and snowflake schema structures, and load it into the warehouse. SSAS was employed to build semantic models and cubes for multidimensional analysis, while SSRS and SQL Server Reporting delivered operational, scheduled, and ad hoc reports to business users. The implementation explicitly integrated open hub tables as the source system feeding the warehouse, with the star and snowflake schema database serving as the authoritative reporting source used to develop SSRS reports. Reporting and analytical workflows supported underwriting, claims, and finance functions, providing both relational and cube based access patterns for analysts and operational teams. Governance focused on ETL architecture, schema standardization, SSIS package orchestration, and SSAS model versioning to ensure consistent report development and data lineage. Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) delivered the core Analytics and BI capabilities for Donegal Insurance Group, with the warehouse established as the single source for downstream report authoring.
