In 2011, Dow implemented Serrala FinanceSuite for AP Automation. The implementation supported global portfolio activity across North America, Europe, Pacific, and Latin America and included provisions for divestitures into SAP Mall Tenants.
The Serrala FinanceSuite deployment centered on AP Automation capabilities including configuration of AutoBank and Lockbox workflows to automate incoming payment processing. Configuration work covered installation, release testing, migration of vendor banking components, and creation and updating of AutoBank rules to automatically process bank statements loaded into SAP ECC.
Integration work explicitly targeted SAP ECC, with Hanse Orga AutoBank identified as a vendor application integrated into the SAP ECC landscape. Operational coverage included Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Financial and Statutory accounting, and Treasury, with training and promotion of Hanse Orga AutoBank usage to those teams.
Program governance encompassed configuration per implementation, product and user acceptance testing, defect resolution, documentation, and training. Dow maintained a central contact and focal point for Hanse Orga communications, issue research, testing, and release migrations to support ongoing AP Automation operations.

In 2019, Dow implemented Workday Absence Management, migrating core leave and absence processes from Oracle PeopleSoft HCM. The deployment positioned Workday Absence Management as the central Absence and Leave Management capability within Dow's broader Workday footprint, with explicit configuration and integration across HR and payroll domains.
Configuration work included core Workday HCM setup and detailed configuration of absence plans, accrual rules, eligibility criteria, leave request and approval workflows, and time-off tracking. The implementation also covered complementary functional configuration for Payroll, Compensation, Benefits, Time Tracking, and Talent Management to ensure consistent employee data, eligibility logic, and policy enforcement across modules.
Integrations were implemented between the Absence and Leave Management module and Workday Payroll, Time Tracking, Compensation, Benefits, and Talent Management to synchronize employee master data, leave balances, time entries, and payroll deductions. Historic absence records and employee HR attributes were migrated from Oracle PeopleSoft HCM into Workday, enabling a unified record of leave interactions and downstream payroll reconciliation within the Workday environment.
Governance changes focused on centralizing absence policy configuration and standardizing approval chains and HR case handling within Workday, along with role based access controls for managers, HR administrators, and payroll teams. The project emphasized consistent policy enforcement through system driven workflows and consolidated reporting inside the Workday suite to support absenteeism administration and compliance across affected HR and payroll business functions.

In 2019, Dow implemented Aveva APM Assessment, an Asset Performance Management application, after a competitive selection process that beat out 18 alternative providers. The decision established Aveva APM Assessment as the chosen platform for driving an enterprise-grade assessment of asset reliability and maintenance practices across Dow Chemical operations.
The deployment focused on an assessment-led approach, using Aveva APM Assessment to inventory critical assets, baseline current condition and maintenance maturity, and prioritize risk-based inspection and reliability improvement opportunities. Aveva APM Assessment was used to scope functional modules and capabilities typical of the Asset Performance Management category, including asset health profiling, failure mode analysis, predictive analytics readiness evaluation, and maintenance strategy rationalization.
Integration activity centered on aligning the APM assessment outputs with Dow operational and maintenance planning processes, establishing data handoffs to reliability engineering, maintenance execution, and asset investment planning workflows. Governance was formalized through a cross-functional steering group to validate assessment findings and prioritize remediation actions, reflecting an emphasis on process alignment between operations, maintenance, and asset management stakeholders.
The procurement and acceptance outcome noted that Dow accepted the Aveva APM Assessment implementation, securing the platform as the foundation for subsequent APM initiatives. Aveva APM Assessment now serves as the assessment and planning layer within Dow’s broader Asset Performance Management efforts.
