In 2020, Dynea implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations as its core ERP Financial platform, moving from Microsoft Dynamics AX to a modern, integrated solution. The decision was driven by a company-wide desire for a more integrated system and improved process support across the manufacturing business.
The Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations deployment included core financials and operational modules, and was configured to leverage the application’s integrated CRM and project module as highlighted by Dynea’s change management team. Configuration work emphasized recognizable user experience continuity from Microsoft Dynamics AX while preparing standard financial workflows, project accounting capabilities, and CRM-driven customer and service management for the process industry context.
Operational coverage spanned Dynea’s manufacturing footprint, with production sites in Norway, Denmark and Hungary and rental production across Germany, Finland, the Netherlands and Austria, and the implementation was positioned to support finance, sales, project teams and technical service functions. The program was described as ready for additional integrations in the future, reflecting an architecture choice to enable extensibility rather than hard-coded point-to-point connections.
Governance and rollout were supported by external partners, Engage Group being engaged early to advise and lead the project with Brita Kristensen acting as internal project manager and advisor, and Inspirit365 delivering the implementation. Change Manager Ann-Magrit Sommervold reported that Engage Group’s project management allowed Dynea to focus on internal process optimization and ownership, and that the outcome delivered a modern ERP with integrated CRM and project capabilities and a familiar Dynamics user interface.

In 2014, Dynea implemented To-Increase Data Collection Studio as part of a Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 deployment to standardize warehouse and manufacturing information flows across a group of European adhesive manufacturing factories. The implementation is framed under the Analytics and BI category, with To-Increase Data Collection Studio embedded within the Microsoft Dynamics AX environment to provide mobile, barcode-driven warehouse transaction management and real-time inventory data capture.
To-Increase Data Collection Studio was configured as the primary warehouse execution capability, consolidating two prior third-party warehouse tools into a single automated solution running on handheld barcode readers and truck-mounted terminals. The project also deployed To-Increase Connectivity Studio and To-Increase EDI Studio to provide complementary integration and document exchange capabilities, enabling automated pick/ship workflows, labeling, and finished goods processing within the Microsoft Dynamics AX instance.
Integration work included a bidirectional interface between Microsoft Dynamics AX and the DeltaV process manufacturing system via To-Increase Connectivity Studio, allowing production orders from the ERP to drive material consumption and for production results to post back to ERP. To-Increase EDI Studio was used to create electronic data interchange links with customers and suppliers, including a documented EDI connection between Microsoft Dynamics AX and an Austrian customer running SAP, and the project removed an external invoice scanning and forwarding cost by replacing that workflow with EDI-driven processes.
Governance and rollout followed a rapid standardization approach, the full software implementation and integrations completed within 12 months with Columbus as the implementation partner and IZARA supporting organizational change. The standardized Microsoft Dynamics AX environment with embedded To-Increase Business Integration Solutions met operational requirements without customizations, contributed to a reduction in annual software operating costs by approximately €750,000, and supported the subsequent sale of a group of factories that continue operating under the Prefere Resins brand.
