Configuration work focused on core finance modules such as general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial close orchestration alongside industry-specific billing and invoicing flows provided by IS-U.
Integration patterns reflect connective workflows between SAP S/4 HANA Finance, SAP IS-U and SAP Cloud for Customer, enabling billing to cash orchestration and customer master synchronization between finance and customer service. The architecture aligns a finance core with an industry module and a cloud-based customer engagement layer, preserving consistent master data and transaction flows across billing, receivables and service order touchpoints.

In 2005, Edison International implemented ARCHIBUS by Eptura as its core Facility Management platform to manage space planning and daily facility operations across all Business Units. The deployment supported daily space planning activities and business system operations for all Business Units throughout Edison, consolidating occupancy records and move coordination into a centralized facility management workflow.
ARCHIBUS by Eptura was configured to support space planning, occupancy tracking, move management and ad hoc reporting, enabling generation of non-standard reports from business applications and databases. Functional capabilities implemented included tracking vacant and occupied spaces, assignment and certification of routine space notifications, and project coordination workflows to assist Facilities Project Managers II with large and complex projects.
The implementation integrated with SAP and Excel, with SAP used for notification analysis and assignment, work order generation, IT requisition scheduling, invoice verification against purchase orders, and routing routine and project work to district facility managers and vendors. Excel served as a practical tracking tool for moves, vendor contact information and staff contact lists, while operational coverage extended to the engineering department, district facility managers, the recruiting office for onboarding and offboarding notifications, and coordinated vendor and construction contractor activity for furniture, electrical, IT set-ups and office tear downs.
Governance and process controls centered on a monitored SAP notification queue for scope and scheduling decisions, approval workflows with management for space accommodations, and vendor assignment processes for execution. Routine site walk-throughs with district facility managers, representation for life safety coordination, and departmental documentation created with Snag-it, Adobe and PowerPoint supported ongoing operational governance and day to day facility management operations.
