In 2008, ELEM implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its ERP Financial solution. The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 deployment established a central enterprise system for financial management across ELEM's utility operations, consolidating core accounting and financial control functions.
Configuration centered on SAP Financials, including the Financial Accounting FI and Controlling CO modules, covering general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset accounting and cost center controlling. Standard transactional and period end workflows were configured along with master data harmonization for the chart of accounts and cost centers to support financial close and statutory reporting processes.
The implementation integrated SAP ERP ECC 6.0 with EMC Documentum for document management and with HeRMes for human resource management, enabling electronic records storage, approval routing and HR data synchronization for payroll and personnel processes. Operational coverage was company wide across finance, procurement, records management and HR functions, and governance emphasized centralized financial master data controls and approval workflows enforced through the combined SAP and Documentum landscape.
