The program was aligned with a broader SAP landscape that included BW/4HANA for analytics, C4/HANA for customer engagement, Ariba for procurement, SuccessFactors for HR, and Business Objects for reporting, ensuring functional continuity across enterprise domains.
Integration architecture relied on SAP Process Orchestration and SAP Cloud Platform to orchestrate data flows and system-to-system connectivity between SAP S/4 HANA and the group’s other SAP products. Operational coverage for the implementation included both local BE and DE project streams as well as group-level projects, with build and run organized to support all business process needs across those sites.
Governance and operational ownership were concentrated in the Group SAP Manager role, which planned the SAP budget and organized build and run activities, and managed a blended team of 60 FTE consisting of 15 internal employees and 45 external contractors. The implementation therefore centralized SAP budget responsibility and people management while embedding SAP S/4 HANA as the ERP Financial backbone for Elia and affiliated operations.
