In 2017 Encore Capital Group began implementing Workday Financial Management to consolidate accounting and finance operations, deploying a program aligned with its ERP Financial objectives. The initiative was embedded in a broader four pillar accounting transformation that included organizational design, automation, policy and procedure improvements, and international integration.
The implementation of Workday Financial Management covered core modules and configurations across Accounting, Purchasing, Fixed Assets and Leasing, Expenses, Banking and Settlement. The program included an upgrade of the existing accounting and general ledger environment and the document management system, and the team developed and managed a comprehensive test program and validation cycles for the Workday Financials ERP implementation.
Integration work was significant, with the program supporting 32 integration points to incumbent systems and a parallel implementation for the companys proprietary revenue system. Encore worked with an external PwC team to develop the ERP RFP and drive vendor selection, and engaged KPMG CECL experts to assess and plan adoption steps for ASC 326.
Governance and operational rollout emphasized Procure to Pay training for domestic locations and centralized procurement onboarding aligned to updated organizational policy. The program also produced a comprehensive CECL project plan noting enterprise critical impacts, and managed workstreams that required coordinated engagement from purchasing, pricing, accounting, investor relations, tax, revenue, legal, and international subsidiaries.

Encore Capital Group implemented Workday HCM in 2013, establishing Workday HCM as the enterprise Core HR platform to centralize employee data and HR operations. The implementation is described by an internal HR Coordinator who served as a Workday HRIS subject matter expert and primary administrator for data maintenance and records retention.
Configuration and functional modules include core data maintenance workflows, creation and termination management of employee records, position creation and modification, headcount management including PTN tracking and job and compensation profiles, security configuration, and report writer development. Workday reporting, testing, and ongoing configuration activities were core to the program, alongside reporting structure maintenance and cost center and supervisory organization creation and modification.
Integrations focused on payroll and HRIS data exchange and broader integrations to support compliance workflows, with explicit operational support for I-9 and E-Verify processes. Operational scope centered on HR administration, payroll coordination, employee relations, and compliance functions across Encore Capital Group in the United States, with Workday HCM supporting day to day HR transactions and audit trails.
Governance and process work included development of standard operating procedures, transcription and documentation of workflows, security stewardship, and SOX related compliance work including audit response and remediation. The HR Coordinator role included responsibilities for maintaining state and federal policy compliance such as wage and hour, FLSA, ADA, EOE, FMLA and leave of absence regulations, and management of workers compensation and California unemployment insurance processes.
Encore Capital Group Workday HCM Core HR remains positioned as the central system for HR program administration, headcount management, reporting and integrations, with focused governance on records retention, security, and compliance driven SOPs and audit readiness.

In 2012, Encore Capital Group implemented Microsoft Power BI to centralize Analytics and BI for enterprise business intelligence and reporting functions. The deployment was led from the Enterprise Architecture Competency Group, which drove governance and standardization across the companys Business Intelligence & Analytics portfolios.
The engagement combined Microsoft Power BI visualization, reporting, self service analytics, and data modeling capabilities with an enterprise Cloud EDW architecture. Encore built a Data Warehouse and Data Lake in Netezza and concurrently led an initiative to construct a cloud EDW using Azure SQL DW, Azure Datalake, and Azure blob storage, with responsibilities for architecture development, construction, execution and monitoring.
Integrations emphasized information integration and data management workflows between Netezza sources and the Azure based data platform, supporting Power BI as the front end for consumption. Technical proof of concepts and solution design work focused on enabling Power BI reporting against the Azure SQL DW and Azure Datalake assets, while preserving the existing Netezza warehouse for current reporting needs.
Governance and operationalization were core to the program, with the team leading data governance and business glossary development, and providing strategic consulting to evolve and communicate data management, architecture, and delivery practices. Microsoft Power BI was positioned as the enterprise Analytics and BI tool within Encore Capital Group to support standardized reporting, information integration engagements, and improved data stewardship across the organization.
