In 2021, Engie Brasil implemented Oracle Cloud ERP as its ERP Financial platform. The deployment targeted core finance and accounting capabilities to support group-level reporting obligations in Brazil, including consolidated close and monthly result calculation for a consortium of ENGIE companies.
Oracle Cloud ERP was configured around Oracle Fusion general ledger and compliance workflows to enable classification and reconciliation of accounting accounts, determination of real profit for ENGIE Group companies, and orchestration of the monthly result conciliation. Implemented functional capabilities included general ledger configuration, account reconciliation processes, consolidation and close sequencing, financial statement generation, and payroll accounting and conference.
Operational ownership was centered in accounting and finance, with a named Oracle Fusion General Leader responsible for system governance and compliance processes. The team used the system to monitor updates to International Financial Reporting Standards, prepare and publish financial statements and monthly balance sheets, assist internal and external audit, and administer management reporting.
Oracle Cloud ERP also supported accounting for investments in other companies, insurance appropriation, exchange variation tracking and hedge result monitoring, plus preparation and conference of SPED ECD, ECF and IBGE filings. Governance emphasis was on standardized classification and reconciliation workflows, centralized financial close controls and group-level statutory reporting consistency.

In 2018, Engie Brasil implemented IBM Maximo as its Enterprise Asset Management solution at the Candiota thermoelectric power plant in Rio Grande do Sul. The deployment supported plant operations for a 345MW generating unit and was adopted by shift and control room operators, field operators and outsourced operators.
IBM Maximo was configured to manage corrective and preventive maintenance workflows and to control issuance of maintenance documentation. Functional capabilities implemented included work order creation and tracking, maintenance scheduling, asset-level documentation control, prefilled RDO workflows and SGI opening and dating tied to maintenance activities.
The implementation operated in close coordination with plant supervisory control systems, working alongside the DCS OVATION Emerson system for boiler supervision and the DCS T3000 SIEMENS system for the SST6-5000 turbo-generator. IBM Maximo served as the maintenance information backbone, coordinating work execution and documentation while the DCS platforms retained operational control of process and rotating equipment.
Operational coverage and governance extended across control room, field maintenance and outsourced crews at the Candiota site, supporting oversight of the CFB boiler, SST6-5000 turbo-generator, FGD, FF and ESP filter systems and wastewater treatment units ETA, EDA and ETE. Governance processes captured in IBM Maximo included maintenance recordkeeping, SGI handling and formal interactions with external bodies such as ONS, integrating asset management with operational procedures and compliance workflows.

In 2021, Engie Brasil implemented EW Chain, a Blockchain Platform from Energy Web Foundation, as part of an innovation program to embed blockchain capability into its decarbonization portfolio. The deployment was executed alongside a partnership with the TEO platform, developed by an ENGIE-accelerated startup in Paris, to provide added digitalization and security for customers in Brazil.
EW Chain was configured to support automated, blockchain-based certification of renewable attributes and to enable traceability of energy generation from non-polluting sources. Configuration emphasized smart contract-driven certification workflows and on-ledger recording of CO2 consumption and emissions avoided, aligning ledger primitives with the issuance model for Renewable Energy Contracts ENGIE-REC.
Operational coverage focused on ENGIE Brasil Energia commercial and decarbonization functions, delivering customer-facing certification services across Brazil. Integrations centered on the TEO platform and REC issuance processes, consolidating certification events and proofs of origin onto EW Chain to improve auditability and tamper-evident traceability.
Governance and process changes formalized blockchain proofs into REC issuance workflows and traceability controls, standardizing evidence capture and certification steps. The implementation optimized certification and traceability processes associated with Renewable Energy Contracts ENGIE-REC, reflecting a mapped operational use of the EW Chain Blockchain Platform.
