The implementation configured capture and classification workflows for incoming supplier documents, automated parsing and validation of invoice data, and rule based routing for approvals and exception handling. Email management was configured to ingest supplier emails and attachments directly into the invoice pipeline, and contract management capabilities were applied to link invoices to contract terms and pricing conditions, supporting audit trails and retention through electronic records.
Operational scope concentrated on accounts payable, procurement interaction points and contract administration within Eni, consolidating document handling and business process orchestration for finance operations. The SERgroup Doxis4 InvoiceMaster deployment established standardized workflow definitions and role based process controls to enforce approvals, retention policies and electronic records governance.
Implementation emphasis was on embedding AP Automation capabilities into invoice to pay workflows, instrumenting document centric business processes and formalizing records management and contract linkage to financial transactions. In 2015 Eni implemented SAP S/4HANA Utilities as its Utilities ERP for the eni gas & power nv/sa business segment. The SAP S/4HANA Utilities deployment formed part of a full SAP landscape that included ERP, IS-U, CRM, BI and Portal capabilities supporting the business segment.
The implementation covered SAP IS-U industry functionality for meter to cash and customer management, core ERP financial and procurement modules, CRM for commercial and customer service workflows, and BI for reporting and analytics. SAP S/4HANA Utilities was extended with inhouse development using SAP ABAP and .net to support channel integrations for internet, extranet and intranet access, and functional configuration emphasized utilities specific master data, billing runs and contract management consistent with Utilities ERP operations.
The technical landscape integrated ERP, IS-U, CRM, BI and Portal layers with ABAP and .net components providing application logic and channel adapters. Operational coverage centered on the eni gas & power nv/sa business segment and impacted commercial, operations and ICT application management functions. A multidisciplinary team of approximately 26 project managers, ICT business analysts and developers executed configuration, development and application operations.
During 2015 the ICT applications in scope were migrated to central ICT application teams in Italy, effecting a consolidation of application stewardship and centralized governance. The migration included formal handover of inhouse development and ongoing application operations to the Italy based central ICT application teams.
