| IFS | Legacy | IFS Merrick (formerly P2 Merrick) | Oil Gas and Chemicals ERP | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2018 | 2018 |
In 2018, EOG Resources implemented IFS Merrick (formerly P2 Merrick) as its Oil Gas and Chemicals ERP to centralize production accounting, allocations, and field production data management. The implementation included conversion of a TOW/CS production accounting system to P2 Merrick ProCount for nine divisions and provisioning for more than 1,000 end users across domestic and international operations.
Functional modules and configuration work centered on P2 Merrick ProCount for allocations, eVIN, Carte, PetroRegs, and Allocations, with custom allocation logic and ProCount allocation setup developed internally. The deployment also covered web site maintenance, field data capture, ProCount configuration, and user self help operations to support engineers, accountants, and production analysts.
Architecturally the program migrated P2 Merrick components from an Oracle based database to a SQL Server based platform, and redistributed databases and application servers based on utilization and size to optimize the technical landscape. EOG built a custom central data repository to deliver up to date production information to MemSQL, Oracle, DB2, and Mongo, and developed interfaces and APIs using C#, VB .NET, T SQL stored procedures, and Python to manage data exchanges, including FlowCal integration and Cygnet SCADA uploads.
Governance and operationalization included mentoring and training peers, supporting production analysts across business and technology teams, and instituting process automation using UIPath tied to database procedures and views across Oracle and SQL Server. The implementation maintained end to end data flows from production accounting to downstream applications used by engineers, accountants, and executives, and explicitly reduced system monitoring and data validation effort by 75 percent.
